how bad is it getting your wisdom teeth pulled???

Had all four of mine cut out before they breached the gums because they were coming in on an angle and could've damaged the roots of my other teeth. Got put to sleep, lil pill they gave me to take 30min before the procedure had me on tilt. Afterwards, I drank a Boost for breakfast and an Ensure for dessert. But I was eating steak in 4 days

That was nothing.

Dat crunch tho :x

How long yall keep the gauze on?

Consider yourself lucky you aren't getting it done in basic training. They pulled all 4 of mine out after some painful novacaine shots and all I got was a single day of bedrest before it was back to the daily routine. I wish I could've been put to sleep, felt like the doc was yanking out my entire jaw during the procedure. Without exaggerating this man told me, "If you were a POW there would be laws against what I'm doing to you but you're just a recruit" and then laughed

The only upside is that I got it done for free. haha.

^^^not true.

ive busted one open

For those that got your wisdom teeth pulled, did you go to a regular dentist or an oral surgeon?

Yeah i didn't get any pain or anything, just soreness and pressure, i can feel it tightening today but still no pain and i haven't even taken any pain medicine, just the steroids and antibiotics. The bottoms are definitely more sensitive than when i had the top taken out but, like i said just don't try to eat the bread from olive garden lol the soup and pasta are delicious :smokin

If it was as simple as "Just brush them" no one would ever get them removed
And yet billions the world over go their whole lives without any issues whatsoever.
Don Adidada DDS everyone. All those millions who had their teeth pulled for various reasons just needed a toothbrush all along. You should publish these findings.

Dentist sent me to a surgeon.

got all 4 taken out years ago. they gave me anesthesia but I was half awake. I felt them moving around and heard them pull out the teeth. The swelling and pain weren't bad, with all the meds they gave me. worst part was definitely not having to eat solids and smoke.

Touché.

I'm no dentist.

I probably should've stated from the beginning that my dentist gave me that reason.

She said verbatim: "You should get them removed because it's difficult to brush back there which can lead to problems."

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons to get them removed. I just took the reason she gave me as the main reason.

Sorry for being dense.

Took 3 out three separate times

Pretty much no pain. I ate food the next day... Actually the same day. I didn't listen

Yes I still have more which I won't get removed, that one required surgery which I didn't wanna do

It's not that bad. The part that sucks is the you can't eat solid foods and can't use straws to drink. you have to clean out the sockets with salt water because you don't want dry sockets. That stuff hurts. No smoking either.

It all really depends on how they grow in. You may never have to worry about more than just brushing regularly and using mouthwash.

My mother still has all her wisdom teeth and has never had a problem with them. Mine were impacted and it was no fun so they had to be yanked.
