how bad is it getting your wisdom teeth pulled???

Do you guys have dental insurance or did you pay cash. Is it possible to take 'em out yourself?

Had no insurance so I had to pay that **** with cash. Came out to like $1500 for all 4 teeth.

Yea Im pretty sure I couldve found a cheaper option but one of my teeth was next to a nerve and I had to go to an oral surgeon

I was out so I cant answer how it will be for you

I did have 2 crowns put in which was some pain and discomfort but with things like this I say it'll pass in a couple hours/few days so man up

I have to get mine removed soon. I had one erupt through the gum a couple of weeks back. Worst pain I have ever felt...my god. I wanted to just die.

Luckily once it broke through the gum, the pain and swelling ended but I have to get all 4 of them removed.

Had all4 pulled out when i was in jr high. From what i remember pain wasnt that bad just sucked not eating solid food as ppl have mentioned. Although eating nothing but ice cream and pudding was like heaven at that age lol

For those who have it growing in, you have absolutely no idea how it's going to be positioned. Yes, they can possibly damage your other teeth / cause them to move, which will cost even more down the line to fix.

Just get them removed. Peace of mind is priceless.

I had all 4 of mine taken out in one shot. The whole surgery only took 20-30 mins. I was put under and didn't feel a thing. Worse part was my gums bleeding all day and not being able to eat for about 4-5 days.

I'm only had 2. I will not be getting 2 more Dentist said.

I took them out a month ago. No pain. Just got numb and out in about 20 min and went on with my day. Took ibuprofen one time which was 2 hrs after surgery before the Anastasia wore off and that's it.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled seven years ago before my junior year of college started. The pain was excruciating after the operation, and it took me a full week to recover from it. My gums bled for the first two days, and opening my jaw hurt, even as I tried opening it a quarter of the way. I was put on a liquid diet and took ibuprofen to relieve the pain. As far as the gauze is concerned, I had to replace it every 4-5 hours.

I still feel an uneven crunch as I clench my teeth today as a result of the operation.

didn't hurt, except the part where he stuck the needle inside my gums. Wasn't as bad as when I was 12 and had to have eight needle shots in order to remove four teeth prior to getting braces.

Not bad. Worst part is the recovery process. Gotta be careful what you eat and you can't excercise. I just had a local anesthetic. I went twice (left side and right side) 3 mths apart. I got the procedure during my lunch break and went to work right after as well.

bump

Just got one of mine taken out on Friday, no pain or swelling atm, been eating puree foods and smoothies since then

Worried that im gonna get dry socket if I eat solid foods tho

How long did you guys wait to eat regular food?

yea its not bad at all....the worst part is that noise when they yank it out :x

the first one i got pulled i was real cautious. waited like 3 days.

second time after i knew what was up ate regular food the next day.

the stories about the dry socket are crazy tho.

I was good after a week if I remember correctly. I got all 4 of mine removed easily and had no problems I don't even think I had swelling either

never had to take mine out. i was lucky they all had space to erupt & grow in wit no tooth impact.

That tooth impact is the worst i heard
Man...

You don't even know :smh: Especially when the tooth would "jump" as it was trying to make space :x

That pain drove me to tear up famb, and I'm not a cryer.

That was 7 years ago, and I can still feel it, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
