Post your unpopular music opinions

Drake is a mediocre rapper and even worse singer.

Eminem is the greatest technical rapper...EVER.

Dipset's influence is what sparked Wayne blowing up.

K. Michelle I'd a better singer than Beyonce.

Trey Songz stole R.Kelly whole aura and that's why he's poppin.

Bob Dylan sucks

KRS One is overrated

DITC is the most underappreciated hip hop collective ever

ASAP Rocky has the best 2nd best rap album of the year

Eminem is overrated but not trash

Cali has the most talent in hip hop right now

If you only listen to one genre of music I put your taste on par with that of a 10 year old

Jewelz > Word...Life

Pete Rock >>>>>>>>>DJ Premier

Hopsin and Tech N9ne and all similar music is garbage...ex-Juggalo stuff

Neil Young > Bob Dylan

If you think The Beatles are overrated I can't fully respect your opinion on anything

If you're over 25 and still in your backpack rap phase...you're corny

If you're a white person who exclusively listens to and checks for white rappers...you're corny

- Lil' B is trash, was trash, and will always be trash
- Gunplay >>>>> Meek Mill
- Styles P became the best LOX member after his 1st album, and has been ever since
- Krit's a much better producer than J.Cole, and honestly, on par with, if not a better rapper than Kendrick Lamar. I always said Kendrick was better both cause I thought that, but also cause it sounds like the cool thing to say. But after listening to a lot of their stuff over the years, other than having great backing, I'm not sure what Kendrick does that Krit can't. Kendrick actually gets hella annoying depending on how many voice change-ups he does. After Anderson Paak, he was the 2nd biggest detriment to Compton.
- Lil' Wa_n_ is the most popular and praised mediocre artist in history. He's always been a bit better than marginal, but it took nearly a decade for his fans to realize that. Going back to listen to songs like BM Jr, the Mobb, Georgia Bush, and other freestyles from then, and it's like....that's it? He told ya'll he was the best rapper alive, and ya'll believed it. He sold ya'll sunflower seeds and told ya'll it was cocaine, and ya'll snorted it. LOL.
- Dave Hollister and Avant are better than a lot of your favorites.
- Jay was the better rapper than Nas before 2001.
- Nas has been a better rapper than Jay-Z since 2001.
- Beyonce can actually sing. You just don't like what she sings about, and don't like her keeping your favorite rapper from making better music.
- Michael Jackson >>> Prince. I don't know what would make people say otherwise, other than going against the grain

Migos didn't invent any style of rap, they just borrowed Lil Corb and Lord Infamous' flows that were forgotten about. THEN Migos got jacked and had everybody rapping like them

I truthfully think those dudes had no idea who Lil Corb or Lord Infamous were. The flows are close, but also distinctly different.

I think Migos were just toying with flows, and stumbled across a formula that worked and sounded dope. Nobody in the main stream heard a flow like that before..and they weaved it into the DNA of current rap organically.

Their flow is their own.

They probably don't know who they are, but no one toys with flows nor stumbles across a formula and sounds damn near identical to who they're influenced by

Other than different tones of voices, this is Migos in a nutshell. Quavo is a funny mashup of Corb and Cutty Buddy Mike Jones, and Takeoff is pretty much Corb and K-Rock.

>D  son, do you remember how crazy the 50 cent and Wayne hype was.  this ain't no where close to that...

I'm not sure what kind of buzz somebody has to have in 2015 to reach what they had. Everything is so accessible, it's tough to tell if it's really legit buzz, or just a small pocket of very vocal fans. Future has buzz, but nothing at all like what 50 and Wayne had.

Most new age rappers are really just Cudi clones (Travis Scott, etc.)

I wouldn't say Cudi fell off but he's not a rapper to me so in that sense I can get why people say that.

Wasn't checking for Cole till his last album

Mos Def top 5 easily

Future is trash? :x
Frank Brocean > Weeknd?

Going to pray for some of you dudes in here. Dead ***.

- The Weeknd > Miguel > Frank.

- Nas and Jay don't need to drop another album ever again.

- Beyonce is still stuck in the generic music phase. She has more than enough clout to put out something with real content behind it and still sell but won't.

Azealia Banks, Tink & Rapsody are female emcees that deserve more attention than Nicki Minaj.

R&B is trash because most of the artists don't know how to sing and half of them want to rap.

the Dirty South movement in rap during the early to mid 2000s was beautiful.

2Pacs best music came before his days on Death Row.

Fetty Waps run will end very soon.

DJ Quik & Kurupt were the best rappers on Death Row.

Hip Hops style of dressing was the best during the early to mid 2000s.

Kendrick Doesn't have a rapper's voice and he knows that why he uses all those weird effects, but it just makes it worse, he a very dope emcee and has the skillset but this proves that some people are just born to rap and some are born to write

probably not unpopular, just an opinion but Vince Staples should be getting more love

also, no artist should ever cover or sample "Feeling Good" anymore.  It's enough already

10000% agree on Vince Staples. Dude is prob one of the more talented young artists and i feel like hes still relatively unknown. Dude speaks that street stuff in a dark & regretful way. Like he knows its wrong but its still survival of the fittest in the end

With that said Summertime 06 shoulda been a 1 disc album lol

Well hes more unpopular music opinions from me....

Joy Division made great music but i dont like Ian Curtis voice

Spaceghostpurp & Raider Klan had the chance to make something great but fell apart too quickly

RZA >>>> Dr Dre

Madlib >> J Dilla

Redman is better than Method Man and is the real most underrated rapper ever

Camrons style is one of a kind and his rhyme schemes were always on point no matter how silly they were lol

I hate album skits

Some old rappers & groups really didnt have bars like ppl make it seem but they still made great music

New music doesnt have replay value like old music and idk why

Tupac wouldnt be a legend if he didnt get killed, he didnt live long enough to start sucking
Eazy E is overrated
Big L & Big Pun > Biggie & Pac
Big Boi > 3 stacks
Death Row wouldnt have been successful without Daz Dillinger
