Tiny was over at BC talking  it up about the new Marbury Starbury relaunch. These look hot for $15. Ya'll think these are takin it over in round 2?

.... i still have this pair i stashed away { paid $6 }....... not everyone can afford to pay $150+ for shoes for their kids. this would be a BIG help to alot of parents... it would be great if he could get 1 NBA player to join him and wear these in a game.... i'll be picking up a few pairs to support him..... best of luck to him with the relaunch!!!!

it wasn't that bad a sneaker, i had a few of them for just walking around... it's a GREAT idea by Marbury, affordable sneakers, especially for struggling families.

i saw younger kids playing in them. i wouldn't advise bigger/heavier players to use them to play in though.

hopefully he can make a go of it this time. i'll be buying some...

I remember starbury sneakers releasing here in NYC. I went to pick me and my brother a pair, mad heads at Steve and Barry's trying to get these kicks. Had the all black starbury one. Beats those to death on the court.

I liked starbury because for $15 you couldn't go wrong with letting steph trying to eat, taking a chance on establishing his own brand, helping out underprivileged families get legit kicks, and for me adding variety to my collection of Jordan's, Nikes, Reeboks, and Ewings (got mad love for my Knicks)

Hope people give his brand a second chance. On that note, I'll take a Knick Starbury One without the crazy. [emoji]128512[/emoji]

Everybody had these back in the day lol. a lot of aau teams around my way rocked em. I had 1 pair of the bball but a different style than pictured. also had a pair of new balance look alikes. They were straight for 15 bucks but I never got serious about playing in them. It's nice for families that can't afford to buy the name brand nike stuff for their kids. I think they will flop this time around other than parents buying them for young children. most people already experienced the starbury craze and I doubt many will feel the need to try again. But you never know... being so cheap some people will say what the hell. Overall it won't be talked about too much though. It already had it's time as a major news story, no way it gets nearly the same publicity as the original launch which will hurt the sales big time.

ones I had best pics I could find

^^^^ word, I busted out laughing when I read that comment but so true. Why not beat up a pair of $15 shoes. I need some lawn cutter kicks myself.

Here's an update from the Planet Money podcast team on the Starbury; how it was made, why it failed, and the mission they were trying to do - produce an affordable basketball sneaker (under $20) that could hold up for pro use. Gonna try to embed the link in. If it doesn't work, I'll post the article below with a link to listen. Pretty good 20-minute episode, I know some people on here will appreciate.
