Official tax refund thread vol. for the 2015 tax year

Did my taxes and I have to pay back $483. I had to file 3 W2s (one for old navy, which I worked part time for part of the year). I got a full time job through a temp agency and got a W2 from them and got one from the job from which the temp agency turned into a full time position. I was getting a refund of $505 before I added the third w2. Does this sound correct? I know your refund amount goes down for each addition W2 you have to file.

Did mines through H&R Block. Getting around $1000 and something back... Already had $130 sent to my bank account 2 days ago which is going to go well with my paycheck I'm getting later tonight. The rest of my money should be in my account sometime next week.

Whats the highest Tax refund someone can get? Assuming you have the ideal deductions and exemptions, and claim dependents?

I'm getting back $1,600 from federal, I'm just happy I don't have to pay.

yeah I went to e-file about an hour ago and couldn't get my pin.

makes sense, ACA online roll out flopped, IRS failing...where's obama to fix this....oh at a mosque....cool....smh

I don't believe there is a limit.

There isn't really a limit that I've heard of. Doubt the IRS doesn't want a free loan of any amount. lol. I had a client get back $350k...

We got back a little over 12,000 in 09. Three kids btw.

It makes sense tho, with 3 kids...

My boy has 3 kids but he actually opts to pay less taxes throughout the year so in the end he doesn't get much back if anything at all....I've been not struggling per say but it hasn't been easy with my wife unemployed and paying the max taxes check by check...get to enjoy a nice little kickback now...

I was looking at my witholdings a few days ago and can't decide if I want the tax return or money per month. Leaning toward more/month but it's easier to save when it's taken out automatically and then given back in a lump

Did you ever change your allowances on your individual work W-4s?
Nice guide here
https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/IRS-Withholding-Calculator

Single, with zero allowances, and one job, you get back the MOST come tax time. aka the Government gets a great deal from you all year. You get less per paycheck

Single, with 2 allowance, and 1 job, they say you will get back less approaching your break even come tax time. But you get quite a bit more per paycheck.

And from there, you can have any combination in between. I played around with it, and for some lower paying part time jobs, they have you set up lower allowance amounts. So it's not quite 1 or 2, or 3 across the board

Lol not sure how many people actually save their return, which is why I want the money in my check.

Money gets budgeted accordingly all year, then when I get my return (<$1000) use that on a trip or whatever I want.

I would probably owe at the end of the year if I did this.
How do you figure that with a $9000 return lol plenty of room for adjustments. You wouldn't owe anything if you adjust accordingly using turbo tax W4 calculator.

Just a heads up for those who plan on using TurboTax. If you file with turbotax and you're also a Southwest Airlines rapid rewards member, you get 1000 rapid rewards points added to your account. Just follow the instructions and link on Southwests website.
