Official 2016 Boxing Thread: 11/5/2016 - Vargas/Pacquiao Top Rank PPV.

Man Pacman is No easy victory for anyone not named Floyd Mayweather.

It took basically defensive wizardry to beat him.

You gonna out gun Manny in a firefight at 140? I'll believe it when I see it
We just gone forget Marquez put him to sleep?

Yeah, th perfect punch and placement during a fight Manny was winning.

That was one of the luckiest punches outside of Sergio Martinez vs Paul Williams.
If you think that's the norm vs PAC, more power to you.

Anytime that punch his called lucky I have to post the video

One of the most amateur mistakes I've ever seen. And I still blame Pac for getting himself knocked out!

10 second clap, back the **** off. The hell you doing charging in with 1 second left.

Explain what a "lucky punch" is? As far as im concerned, you throw to connect, and thats exactly what happened. You even said it yourself that it was the perfect punch and placement, kinda contradicting youself eh? Doesnt matter if pac was winning, thats the beauty of the sport, one punch can end it all.

A punch that ends a fight that you are losing and don't appear to have a chance at winning could be considered a lucky punch.

Sometimes also known as a PED punch.

It's lucky when it changed the entire outcome of the fight
Fight wasn't going his way, boom. Fight over.
Considering JMM has never been that guy (same with Sergio) I'd definitely call it "lucky" and continue to do so

Again to my point about bud washing Manny, do y'all see Crawford landing that "lucky" punch on PAC? Do y'all see Crawford out gunning PAC ? I don't.
Bud better be the most cerebral he has ever been.

What's more likely, PacMan winning an artillery fight or Crawford?

I would call it lucky in the sense that Pacman was standing right where Marquez needed him. But Marquez obviously studied Pacquiao extensively and he trained specifically to land that punch. He even landed it earlier.

Took him 4 tries, with the help of Angel  and chest full of pimples.

Did Floyd put him to sleep? How about Bradley? So what exactly are you saying?
He said he took a defense wizard to beat him, I was just pointing out Marquez put him
to sleep also.

So i guess any team that wins in the last quarter/inning from behind is considered a lucky team. No need to practice or study when you have luck on your side, amirite?

Well Marquez is probably the top 5 counterpuncher of all time and maybe best in our generation so there is some defensive wizardry involved with him

It's only luck if the team they didn't want to win, wins.

I mean, after 3 fights you'd think Marquez would know his every move. Not to mention, Pacquiao does that stupid stutter step like a feint before he attacks sometimes that's easy to time. Plus, Marquez probably felt the aggressiveness of Manny after the knockdown and cracking his nose, Marquez probably assumed he was going for the kill. Nonetheless, perfectly timed punch with an over aggressive opponent never ends well.

Lol i dunno either. I guess we're all entitled to our own opinion, whatever tickles your pickle.

About pac/bud, this is one scrap i cant predict. Both cats can bang, id give pac an edge in speed but bud in power. Pretty close fight, if i had to pick id say pac by a **** hair, due to experience and speed.

& also, ppl who talk bout the "lucky" punch are the same ones who would fail to mention that Pac was gifted 2 out of 3 decisions in the past fights between them.

Hopefully there were no typos so that this could fully be comprehended

After 3 close fights, you think pac was going win #4 easily because he was winning halfway through??

Come on b

A lot of people that don't know boxing would have probably considered Andy Lee's one punch counter KO of John Jackson a "lucky punch" too. I mean, Jackson was beating him the entire fight but Andy Lee had the better and more expierence. Bounced off the ropes and saw the left hand being used to gauge so he knew the right was coming. Timed him perfectly.

HBO passed on Lemieux-Stevens because of their budget
