Rent is so crazy here that these things are starting to look better and better. Discuss.

You gotta put something like this into context.

How does an apartment that size physically appear(furniture)?

OP i would live in place this size if i was going to school or in transitional period in my life(starting a new career etc).

Plus, if you're in a place like nyc it forces you to go out and do stuff.

This looks like the apartment of a serial killer.

Aren't these apartments mainly in expensive are like the financial district ? if they was like 600 or under , then sure . Single bedroom rent here in miami generally starts around 1050+ in a nice area . And about 1500+ in a high rise .

I think they start at like, 400-450 here. They're meant for people who don't wanna spend 4 figures every month.

I could, and I did for my 1st year at grad school. Actually my apartment might have been 225-250. I enjoyed it. Its about how well you can maximize your space and the things you include in your space. Rent has to be affordable as well. I was paying ~$550 for my spot in upstate NY.

temporarily yes. Right now I'm barely at home outside of sleeping so there's no reason for me to pay for the extra space

Nope, I lowkey think im claustrophobic. Hate crowded places

Joints not even an apartment b. Just a room

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL naw. Wtf is the toilet, in the closet? That's one of them joints where u share a bathroom?

Nah man. I'm miserable in the 1.4k sq ft house I rent. Last one was 3500. Now I just got furniture piled up with no room. **** looks stupid.

I did for about a year when I lived in the DR
My room had two beds that were on cinder block foundations, a TV and a bathroom... Cost me about $80 a month

theres DC-based company called Bone Yard Studios that builds similar sized dwellings...i think they look great, but not sure how id feel being they are free standing structures...
The Matchbox is a 140-square foot house that, upon completion, will be fully off-grid, zero-waste, and self-sustaining. The house combines a mix of modern design and sustainability techniques with older and proven natural methods such as shou sugi ban  for siding protection, rain chains for rain catchment, skylights and wide windows for passive cooling, and earthen plaster for humidity control.
