you guys understand how asinine it would be for a shoe to wear out after between 13 and 26 miles, right? lol. i can't even believe everyone is still talking bout this. the author clearly f*ked up by A) misinterpreting some statement and interpreting that statement to mean the sole would only last 13-26 miles and then B) actually being dumb enough to put it in print.
not only that but his original comment in the article was "the grip" will last between a half and full marathon. the grip? who talks that way when referring to the sole's life? which leads me to believe it was just something he misunderstood from the jump....someone told him something about the grip of the shoe and then he went to print with something that was then misinterpreted by folks to mean that the sole had a super finite life.
last but not least, nike claims that 350 runners put 126,000 miles on these in testing. 126000/350 runners = roughly 360 miles per runner. i'm pretty certain each runner used one pair of shoes to put those miles on and not between 14 and 27 pairs lolol .

Tried the platinum vapormax this afternoon at my local HOH-appeared to have a FSR still
I like 'em but not for $190 and they fit true to size if you have a medium width foot..i would never wear these to run in..

I tried on the vapormax today, I wear a 10.5 in the free run flyknit for comparison. The vapormax is a really flexible shoe and I could have went down .5 in this for a really snug fit. Nice shoe, but $190 is pretty steep.

I get the UB comparison is inevitble, because people want Nike to "respond" to boost, but it really needs to stop. Theres no comparison, they're both completely different feeling and are both extremely comfortable in their own ways.

It's apples and oranges.
I find the Vapormax to be generally a more comfortable shoe.
It's been a long time since I've had a shoe where the upper conforms my foot really well. Sole is really responsive and doesn't feel "dead" like boost

Even though boost isn't actually new, this shoe 5-6 years in the making. Doubt its to "challenge" boost. Adidas was and still is a blip on Nike's radar back then.

Can't believe I watched the whole video...
But one thing did come to mind...what's the max load on these as far as weight?! I noticed how squished the bubbles looked near the end when he was mimicking steps or walking. A hefty jabroni might pop a unit just walking.

^ when I tried them on today, that was the most worrisome part for me. I'm only 140 lbs, and just normal walking you could see that heel air bubble get compressed quiet significantly.
