Nike Air VaporMax

Whats your quick impression of the shoe? Everything you thought it was? Scale of 1-10?

Without giving too much of my thoughts away, it's been a great shoe! Not exactly what I thought it'd be (honestly thought it was just another Air Max that'd feel the same, but it's not). Can't give it a # yet, but definitely nowhere low!

I feel like lunarepics and flyknit racers are more comfy in terms of Nike styles.

I can co-sign on the LunarEpics.

Maybe we get a triple black gr sooner than later after all idk.

black air bags make them look like Shox a bit

Not as extensive wear for testing like some of the others but I think I gathered enough in my 3.5 days of wear. All in all, I'd say 7.5/10.

I feel you guys about having this shoe be worthy of a consideration for running. In all honesty, I thought the same thing since the official unveiling. I thought, "Nice, finally a next generation of Air Max that I can get for part of my daily wear." However, once I tried it on and felt it, then I thought, "Okay, this is something else here."

There are definitely other running shoe options that's best for running. For the last 9 months or so, I've been running in the Zoom Vomero 11s, and the Pegasus 31s and 32s before that for about 8 months. Both are excellent shoes, a lot cheaper, and you can beat them up like crazy and not worry about how it looks. I think the great thing about the Vapormax is that it's breaking that "Air Max stereotype" that it has been known for: that the shoe was too dated that you can't run in them. It was fine for a shoe back in 2009 and prior to that, but once shoes got lighter with Flywire and Flyknit and Hyperfuse and all of that stuff, the Air Max line had to match up with a lot of running shoes, both inside and outside of Nike, and for a VERY long time, it honestly couldn't.

Vomeros are the most comfortable pair in my closet.

Your right, The black sole does make these look like shocks.

Hopefully some official pictures come out soon and they look better.

I think the bottoms look too funky IMO... I figured this would be more of a
Performance shoe, not something for casual wear... still waiting for Nike to
Drop something that steals the buzz away from the UB, and I don't think this is it...

Just minding my business walking through SoHo when I go into KITH a few blocks up and see these ok the wall. Come to find out they're the last pair and in my size - so here we are [emoji]128526[/emoji]

Need those asphalts. 1st time diving in on this wave. We'll see how it goes. General consensus is they're comfortable. Hopefully that's the case planning on using these for work.

If you are judging this shoe by its tech then why not opine about its tech instead of comparing it to UB?

With all due respect, folks like you are where the ad dollars go. Of all the running shoes out there the UB is one of the last I'm comparing this to. If I ran as much as I do AND I wanted to wear these at the multiplex to tear ticket stubs 12 hrs/day I'd go UB. (Or any other gig that would have me on my feet all day)

This also demonstrates how Nike goes about things vs how other brands do. When Nike wants to establish a runner, they try to establish that runner's credibility with athletes. When other brands want to make waves in a given genre, they employ other methods.

I think this shoe will win over the people who don't prioritize tech because of the colorways on their way. Lots of colors going to appeal to a lot of people, independent of how highly they prioritize the tech

IDs always take longer than a month. They're custom making yours and thousands of other people's shoes on the other side of the planet .
