Reminds me of when I was programming in a restaurant once and my waitress made a comment about how what I do is so difficult and she couldnt do it.

I was like "Your job is definitely more difficult than mine. I never have and never will do what you do." Made her smile

It would also be nice if eliminating poverty was as simple as "Rage waises for everyone!" but that's just not how it works.

no i agree with you

i never had a desk job, I'm blue collar, desk job AINT for me........i lied i did Security before behind a desk.......BORING AF no wonder people gain weight at jobs like that

also my FIRST job was McDs

trust me I know hard work, but 15 for McDs isn't a good idea to me.

majority of the folks talking this min wage stuff dont even understand how the capitalism they love works and problem dont run a business of themselves that employs multiple people.

IMO The issue is Lack of Diverse Jobs AND A USELESS High School Education system that pretty much doesnt give adults any skills worth a damn. Now people have to go to College just to get call center jobs lol. IMO HS Should be revamped to focus on allowing people to not graduate without learning a trade.

lol if your an executive living in a capitalistic nation all you have to do is say to yourself "should I pay thousands of employees 15 bucks or more plus benefits, or should I just purchase a few thousand kiosk that are automated and dont need benefits,vacations, or sick days". So yea they will pay 15 bucks to someone, it will be to the 1-3 people they hire to look over the Automated kiosk, and once technology advances more then they getting out the paint too.

At the end of the day Automation is going to get EVERYONE out the paint. It got the factory workers out the paint, fast food and taxi/uber are next, then programmers, accountants, etc etc.

oh i dont think its a great idea either.  that post was really me just venting frustrations lol im sick of people wanting gold stars for doing the bare minimum
 
Raising wages and eliminating the EIC credit is a must. Keeping wages artificially low and keeping the EIC around has been nothing but corporate welfare for the past few decades. You want people to buy your products, pay them a wage that allows them to actually afford it. That's something American companies used to do.
 
hopefully restaurants will have to abide by the new minimum wage so I don't have to tip anymore

Dumb idea, that would mean lesser jobs, lower chance of raises, Seattle is already showing the effects. They're losing jobs, very little growth, economy slowing down.

People don't listen. Damn liberals man.

Funny thing is the people who will get mad ar micky ds are the ones who dont even eat it lol.

Fast food non manegerial roles have NEVER been jobs you are supposed to raise a family on. The min wage focus has been on fast food for the most part while there are other jobs imo that have a better case for better pay but for those the pay varies by company (ie. CNAs,EMTs, etc).

Like why does nobody want to focus on job creation and skills training? Why is nobody talking about the US Outsourcing entire industries of jobs which is the reason 30 and 40 yr olds have to work managerial fast food jobs in the first place? Liveable wages is not a good enough argument and like i said its like putting a band aid on a gun shot wound.

so u making minimum wage? Lol, where I live minimum wage is 7.50 so u make double that which is the new min wage. Smh they getting ppl with this 100% raise. I need a 100% raise I'll be making over 200k smh

When i worked at the bank I was makin 14 somethin n hour before comissions. :x

Burger flippers getting paid more then loan processors :x
 
It's a slap in the face to all the hard working Americans and even the illegals making 2.25 an hr. And the waitresses. So what now for team no tip minimum wage argument?
