How often do you call in for work?

Y'all lucky with unltd sick!

I work for the city. We get 12 sick per yr. Carries over. And something called available vacation allowance.

If you work on a holiday, you can opt to have it on your check. Or bank it.

My first 3 years I had only 2 official vacation weeks. Finally 4 next year.

You're lucky working for the city. I work for myself and get 0 sick days and 0 paid holidays.

I took a day to recover after kidney stones a few years ago but other than that I haven't taken a day in 12 years. Think I went home at 4 when I was sick as a dog once.

3 weeks of paid time off. U can roll over up to 10 days so I only use maybe 8 or 9 and let the rest roll over. I sit at a desk on NTOST of the day like I am now so no need for a day off unless I'm sick or something comes up.

I work salary and i have 9 days for sickness every year.

But whenever i take one, i come back to work and i just have twice as much to do.

So in 2 years i called in only 3 times.

No carry over also :smh:

Ours are based on hrs. 48 hrs a year. 16 personal that has to be taken on 4 hr increments 120 hrs of vacation. 30 rolling over year to year. I actually randomly schedule days off so that I don't have to call in. Unless I had too much fun the night before.

Never.

I called out once last year (My boy had an extra Rolex suite ticket to the US Open).

Work as a Registered Nurse, if I call out, everybody else got to pick up my work and makes for a real tough day.

I never call out. Got to ask for days off a month in advance.

i very rarely call in sick. i take off early or come in late or leave during the day. flexing my schedule like that really helps when you have a kid. he can even come to work with me if i need.

I got 37 days of sick/PRO days to use this year. Called in one day last week and today (3 days total this yr) even though I'm off 2 days next week. My employer doesn't care. They tell use "It's your time, use it how you want". :pimp:

In 1.5 years of working as a valet I never once called out, I needed the money. I quit that job last December though, it was fun but got really annoying towards the end

People with PTO that aren't using it

, don't see how you do it. I can roll over 5 days, but I use all of my days every year.

Never understood why someone wouldn't use their PTO.

Youre a worker bee.. Ain't no trophy for that.

EXACTLY.

Dudes at my job had 6-7 weeks of PTO saved up. Company said they all have to get down to 2 weeks by a certain date and they were throwing fits.

I was like well donate the time to me I'll take it, they said "My PTO is worth too much to be giving it away"

Well then use it and get over it. How you can work for years and take no paid days off is insane.

I get 8 more hours of PTO every pay day.

With that said, I never call in. I take scheduled PTO when me and the lady are going out of town or something, or for our anni and stuff. But I don't consider that calling in.

Called in sick or called OUT sick? You're calling in, but its to call out.

Is this like NYers saying "standing ONline" instead of INline like the rest of America? haha

just work from home usually, unless is something that prevents me from looking at a comp screen like a migraine...

I practically never call in. I'm rarely sick, and any days off are scheduled ahead of time- and all of those are "use or lose" PTO vacation days, anyway.

On the other hand, I roll in pretty late errday

I have PTO, but I don't hate my job enough to take random days off, unless I need to.  Gotta save that ish for big trips when I need multiple days (a week) off.  If anything, I'll take a couple hours and leave early on a Friday or something.

Never cause I need this money, mane. I do have PTO hours but gonna wait till something comes up. Also as a manager I don't like taking many days off because I feel out the funk when I return.
