GOAT APP legit?

The box thing is why I ended up selling my 750 gum on StockX. The one side corner was split from how adc shipped it, but other than that everything was flawless. When I listed on Goat I had the lowest price, but it moved it into the Section on the lower right that you have to click on to see shoes with imperfections. Well I am assuming that not many click on that because even though I had the lowest price by 150-200 they sat. Went onto stock X and they moved immediately.

I don't mind StockX, but it seems to me goat gets more traffic. 3 more pairs to hit the magical 150 and no more pics.

I will say this, I hope that they contacted the buyer on my FR Vs, because if I got a pair like that I'd probably be pissed. They paid out almost 30 minutes after emailing so IDK if that was a coincidence or if they just looked at my feedback and paid it out. Seemed odd that after 2 days they paid out that quickly after emailing.

For real bro, sometimes ppl have shoes that are 5-6 yrs old, the box is going to get damage unless you store them really good. Yea with damaged boxes they put your listing in a different category and any imperfections your listing in a completely different category although it's new, it sucks

I am still surprised people are still posting (and possibly buying) from the buy-sell forums. Like others said, too high risk from being scammed (charge back, fake pair, flake) by doing the old-fashion-way buying-selling.

dem fees

Sold a pair last Thursday. I dropped them in the mail Friday. Goat got them Monday. Today (Wednesday) they were authenticated and I cashed out. I do have the 9.5% Goat fee and the 2.9% fee to cash out. I am not in the business of resale and plan to only sell pairs of shoes I no longer want any more. This last pair I sold I only made $50ish so nothing super great. But it was worth it to me.

Never have used StockX before

Not gonna lie, thusfar i've bought and sold on both GOAT and Stockx, but my experiences with stockx have been a little better. On GOAT I feel like there is by for more transactions happening and I've sold more on GOAT, but every couple of transactions my sneakers will inexplicably take 2-3 days to be "verified" and have my money released. With Stockx, not only does it happen within 24 hours but my money gets sent to me usually within a couple hours of delivery. I anticipate that since eventually all sellers on GOAT will be subject to 9.5% + 2.9% paypal (most sellers who have bank deposit are still on a flat 9.5%), Stockx might start to look more attractive as a place to sell, unless GOAT changes their fees.

I guess my verdict is both are great but pretty soon, at least to me, saving a smidgen in fees on GOAT will not make up for the swiftness of stockx. And this is coming from someone who was hard core GOAT > stockx a few months ago.

I wished stock X used USPS like GOAT because UPS ground shipping from and to Hawaii takes FOREVER.

Also, when did goat change their return policy to only give us back goat credits that can't be cashed out?

Goat credits from returns can only be used to buy shoes on GOAT now. Can't be taken out as cash anymore.

I'm confused with what you're saying.

If you returned a shoe to them within the 3 day return window they would give you credits the same way they do if you sell a shoe with them. So you could cash them out like a sell payout. They updated that now and you can only use it to buy shoes

Oh ok gotcha. That's weird, I'd contact them to get my money back unless there was something else you were willing to purchase.

thanks, i don't know how to word it better. do you know when they changed it?  seems like they make all these little changes without telling us about it

this is their policy now. they won't give you a refund in money

Yea, it seems like they adding all these changes all of a sudden, they should just refund you your money, it reminds me of some stores with just store credit when you return stuff

GOAT has been holding a pair of my sold sneakers hostage for over a week (delivered to them 7/29) with no status update on authentication or even a response to my email from Monday. Oddly, I have had 3 pairs authenticated within a day or two (the normal time frame) and these were sent after the hostage pair mentioned earlier...

Stock x is my go to out of the 2 as it is less work on my part. I love not having to photograph and upload pics of ds shoes. I have sold 3 pairs fully there and have one more on its way to detroit. No problems what so ever, and they pay quickly .
GOAT has gotten stagnant and I have a few DS pairs to move. Just a little cautious with the layout and app in general.

I get that they changed the policy so they wont refund you actual money. They're now stuck with that shoe and with how the market is that shoe could have dropped 50-200 dollars after the sell. A business isnt going to take that kind of risk. At least now they dont lose that cash from the return. They're just a middle man, and taking returns is really bad business for a middle man.

For sure, I was shocked they took return at all. Especially if there was nothing actually wrong with the shoe

It states you can return after only within certain amount of days. I think it's good for the customer

Bad for the obviously because now they have to sel the shoe themselves and possibly (most likely) lose money or even sit on a shoe for quite awhile

But business is business

Its def. something that people are going to take advantage of. If they're legit checking what could be a possible reason for return. The buyer picked the shoe, size, ect. It's just another way for people to get around the system and pass their buyers remorse onto someone else. What could you learn in 3 days, without wearing the shoe since it has to be returned in DS condition, that you didn't know before you clicked the buy button. It gives the scum bags of buying shoes another way to screw someone. At least its screwing GOAT and not me as a seller.

I just hope that they don't start collecting a crap ton of inventory and passing the return back to the seller and taking the cash back rather than being stuck with inventory.

So for now, I guess it's good to be the seller once you get your payment.

Some people are just really picky with any minor creases or 'defects' a shoe might naturally come with. This really separates GOAT from other similar options and probably has helped them more than hurt them.

I do find it amazing they're ok with a return not affecting the seller, which is great on their part.

If someone's that anal about something they should do themselves a favor and only buy in person. I don't wear a majority of my shoes but I realize precreasing is something that you deal with buying online and not being able to see the shoe in person. If I was goat I wouldn't be accepting returns. It's going to hurt them in the long run with how bad the market is.

I could see someone making an offer on a shoe. Then forgetting it. And then not having money so they return it. Sounds like luck of the draw if you are selling on there and I'll just hope it doesn't happen to the pairs I have listed. I have had 5-6 pairs on for a month and have only sold 1 pair and every pair I have for sale is the lowest price available. Seems like some are sitting or people just do not have the funds right now with all these summer releases that have been dropping.

Anyone emailed GOAT lately? Been a couple days and they haven't replied back. Their twitter team isn't much help either.
