Developing Story: SHOOTING at T.I show in NYC : 1 dead, 3 injured

The **** Maino posted would lead me to believe they didn't have any real issues.

However, that means nothing when it comes to their peoples. Never know who got a problem with who over what.

**** could have popped off right there on the spot.

What's shameful is the Chief of Police or sho ever made the statement of Rappers are only thugs that eventually their music manifest themselves to violence.

Although there might be some truth, there's a reason why rap - hip-hop connects with the youth. It's a bigger problem that he's not providing a resolution too.

F him ...

Agreed. I don't respect those blanket generalizations but I'm not even surprised.:smh:

As much as y'all joking on son, at the end of the day, a man lost his life, and people got injured, and son's future is potentially ruined. Let's not forget he's a new father. He don't seem like the type to just bust his gun out the blue like that. It's deeper than that. But prayers up to everyone involved in the situation.

A young boy loses his father to a jail cell, and rap concerts might get put to an end in NYC. Let's not forget the gentrification going on right now. But that's topic is too deep for y'all ears.

I agree till the point where you asked for pity for dude. He came in with a gun .... dude wasn't in jeopardy at that point, he should of have bounce. You want to be "bad" now deal with the consequences.

You know this prolly started over a spilled drink or someone stepping on someones shoe too

Don't most generals have designated shooters to do the shooting anyway

Bratton is trash. I don't know why mayors keep being dude. They will not stop rap concerts from happening in the city.

Holup, don't most hardcore rappers refer to themselves as thugs? But when someone of authority says it, especially if they're white, they're automatically a racist/bigot? OK.

Like I said earlier, rap isn't 100% to blame, but it sure as hell isn't helping the cause (senseless violence).

Like dude said earlier, when music does something positive, it's praised, but when it brings about something negative "it's not the music"...

This stuff is setting baaaaad examples for impressionable youth, yet people constantly defend it. it's cool, the warden thanks you for pumping his advertisement.

Stop blaming the music.

Stop blaming "the man".

I hope they throw dude under the jail.

1. He didn't say hardcore rappers. He said rappers period.

2. It doesn't matter if the music is positive to these people that wanna push stereotypes. Common is one of the most positive rappers ever and these same type people called him a gangsta rapper.

3. You naive as hell if you don't see the racial code words. Everybody by now should know what "Thugs" is code.

4. Don't think that this just stops at rappers. They use situations like this to justify police brutality on black males as a whole.

Troy is a fool and he represents himself only.

@CAbased  you ain't lyin. Yet people have all the reasons in the world to defend that mess.

I've said it before on here and I'll say it again:

In this country, killing black men has ALWAYS been accepted, profitable and encouraged, whether directly or indirectly. It's not even a matter of whether you "agree" with me or not, it's the attitude that this country was built upon.

Prime example: Ross' line "put molly all in her champagne, she ain't even know it/ I take her home and enjoyed that, she ain't even know it" and women's rights activists poured out of everywhere. But when he talks about killing other brothers and pumping poison into the community 'oh it's just music, it's his art'.

My boy brought up an excellent point earlier. When NWA arrived, people were doing there best to keep that mess off the streets b/c they knew the danger, but people found angles to protect it.

It corrupts that image of black men, it negatively influences those without guidance, it encourages the breakdown of families... but some of ya'll don't see it and are cool with it.

You cant put the racial spin on this bruh.

These were thugs behaving as such.

If you hate the reaction to such events blame the participants not the reactors.
