2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

What's houston's projected starting lineup looking like? Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson off the bench?

They were top 3 in 3PTA but had no shooters. They added two elite ones.

D'Antoni has been able to get the most out of primary ball handlers and PNR guys. Harden is an elite one.

For a ton of reasons, the team badly underachieved. Harden came in out of the shape. Dwight was unhappy. Everyone had a down year. With a new coach, a couple new faces, Harden ready to prove doubters wrong - I see the chemistry and overall effort level being a lot better.

If Harden's for real, they should be way better.
For the same health concerns other teams have, Houston definitely has them.

They added 2 elite shooters that missed a combined 173 games over the last 3 seasons. And I don't know what it is, but Anderson hasn't been an elite shooter since 2013-14. He's been pretty average shooting the ball the past two seasons. I'm a EJ fan and wish we could've stole him from Houston. I'm just not sure whta to expect from him since he's never had a season where he played over 64 games since his rookie year.

Their defense will still be laughable.
By "other teams" do you mean, the Grizzlies?

Beasley off the bench too.

Beverley / Prigioni

Harden / Gordon / McDaniels

Ariza / Beasley / Brewer

Anderson / DMo / Harrell

Capela / Nene

They were top 10 in defense the year before. They shouldn't be AWFUL even after losing Dwight. Not saying they don't have issues but I think they'll be better.

HOLD UP NOW! Joe Johnson and Diaw signed with the Jazz??? How did I miss that :nerd:

Jazz Lineup:

PG: Hill/ Exum/ Neto
SG: Hood/ Burks
SF: Hayward/ JJ
PF: Favors/ Lyles
C: Gobert/ Diaw

That's a solid mixture of youth and vets to make a strong playoff push. The two big question marks here would be the development of Hood and Exum but also to see if Lyles can replicate his performance in the Summer League.

Kind of funny seeing Diaw and JJ play together now after being traded for one another a decade ago.

If I was more confident that the Jazz could score, I think they have the highest upside in the conference after the Warriors.

All of this

Still better than talking about Julius Randle Brandon Bass' son.

On the bench you mean

Considering he came in instantly and was probably their second best offensive player at the end of the season...i doubt it they have plans to bench him.

I don't remember how Dan Tony is as far as rotations, but I'd like to think if a guy has the hot hand, he doesn't inexplicably take him out and let him rack up a bunch of DNP-CD's like McHale & JBB.

I'd like to think.

If Beasley is getting regular minutes for us next season then we're most likely not going to be a good team.

He should be glued to the bench, break glass in case of an emergency.

Wouldn't be surprised if Houston didn't make it

Without a doubt they will. It'll be a high scoring offense. Probably the highest in the league once they get used to prigs system and the new additions which also leads me to that no defense . Defense is going to be terrible but hey you cant have it all

I also heard Rockets are going after Rudy Gay. They'll be in the playoffs easily and actually might take a step up.

Send them Brewer, KJ, and a pappadeaux's platter.
