OFFICIAL 2016 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

Also, came across a great article yesterday regarding Tight Ends and Gronk v. Olsen. Said something along the lines of Gronk scored 32 more points than Olsen last year. So, 2 PPG. Is Gronk's ADP ahead of Olsen (1st or 2nd round for Gronk v. 4th or 5th round for Olsen) worth 2 PPG? Probably not.

Keep in mind, Brady out for first four games as well.

1st pick in 12 man .5ppr big money league

QB- Brady,Ryan
Wrs-AB,Alshon,Eddleman,Diggs,Funches, Davante adams
RBS-Ingram, Gore, Yeldon
TE- D walker, J cameron
Def- Seattle

^ Some more running back depth would be nice, but not a bad team at all. Might've been better off grabbing only Matt Ryan and going for a RB where you drafted Tom Brady. Don't like the Davante Adams and Jordan Cameron selections.

I don't like Diggs or Funchess and Davante Adams and Cameron aren't even getting drafted in the leagues I'm in.

I don't mind diggs or funchess for bye week fill-in.diggs is best wr on Vikings and I don't like Kelvin Bryant so funches not a bad pick.

I'd go, in this order —

1. AP

2. Hopkins

3. Gurley

FWIW, I'm lower than the majority of people on "Tier 1 RB's" (Gurley, Freeman, Zeke, Johnson) other than AP.
I've always been plus on the idea of grabbing the best available RB in the 1st round, but feeling less that way this year for some reason.

If it's not AP or Gurley, then it's just best available player for me.

Id take Gurley, but I would assume he is taken by then no?  I would think it would be Brown, ODB, Julio, Gurley taken in the first four.
First time playing in this league, not sure how the draft will shake out but every mock I've done have gone Brown, ODB and Julio...after that it's a bit of a toss up who goes 4th.

I noticed this as well, in these terms grabbing Greg Olsen in the 3rd or 4th round seems like a steal. I'm hoping to grab 2 RB's with my first two picks and praying Aaron Rodgers drops to the 3rd round. If not, I'll be grabbing Olsen and Brees in the 3rd and 4th round.

No offense, but that sounds like a terrible strategy.  Wait to draft a QB and TE.  If you wait until like the 5th or 6th round to start taking WR's your team will be awful once one of your two running backs inevitably goes down.

No offense taken, all about opinion/strategy and who is available at the time.

I'm just not big on the WRs that are being taken early in the drafts if it's not Antonio Brown or JJ, I have no problem with grabbing Jeremy Maclin (1k yards, 85+ receptions and 10 TD's last season) in the middle rounds.  Hell, I grabbed Fitzgerald in LATE rounds last season and dude was killing with 100+ receptions and 1200 yards. I know that's a diamond in the rough, but there are plenty of WR options in the middle rounds IMO that can  grab you 10+ PPG.

I find it harder to grab decent RB's in the middle to late rounds than I do to find decent WR's.

Granted, I'm banking on my RB's to do at least 15-20 PPG if I go with this strategy...but I think that should be the case with whoever you grab in the first two rounds.

Would you guys rather have langford or Forte in a standard league?

Someone offered me AJ Green/Langford for my Allen Robinson/Forte.  Seems like a pretty even trade, not sure if I should pull the trigger or not.

I'd jump on that. I have AJ higher up than Arob (but pretty much interchangable) but Langford has higher upside than Forte IMO

Just drafted, Standard nonppr, 12 teamer.

9 David Johnson, Ari RB
16 Allen Robinson, Jax WR
33 Amari Cooper, Oak WR
40 Jarvis Landry, Mia WR
57 Julian Edelman, NE WR
64 Jeremy Langford, Chi RB
81 Jordan Matthews, Phi WR
88 Ameer Abdullah, Det RB
105 Charles Sims, TB RB
112 Kirk Cousins, Wsh QB
129 Devin Funchess, Car WR
136 Dwayne Allen, Ind TE
153 Vikings D/ST D/ST
160 Chandler Catanzaro, Ari K

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, WR/RB, Def, K, B, B, B, B, B, IR

My usual strategy is usually WRs and RBs for value. I tend to wait on QBs and TEs unless insane value and I hardly hold 2 of those spots.
If I don't end up with strong RBs I'll go for upside at the slot (either potential or backup potential with an injury)

at 9 I considered Dez, Gronk, Miller, and Bell but I couldn't pass up Johnson at #9.
16 would be Ingram, Robinson, or Marshall - went with WR. Ideally, I would have preferred to have 2 top WRs or Green with Miller at the turn but I'll take Johnson and Robinson as my core.
Cooper over Rawls, C.J
Landry over Decker, Cobb
Edelman slipped to me so took him then Langford for the upside.
Matthews for value but maybe should have considered RB due to my current ones - had Jones, Woodhead, Yeldon available but didn't really like those options
Ameer and Sims for value/needed RB depth/luck

Ideally would have loved to have Tyrod Taylor in the later rounds but he went in the 8th. Big run with QBs with Cam in the 2nd, Rodgers in the 3rd, Luck in the 4th, Big Ben, WIlson, Brady, Brees going in the 5th. I waited til the 10th to get Cousins. As far as TE's goes, I was going to get Tyler Eifert in the 11th but he was swiped right before me so I went Funchess. Wanted Eifert adn Allen with Eifert as my boom high upside TE but the player in the 11th was autopicking so it went Eifert FML.

All in all, I like it. Depth at the WR, maybe too much since I can only play 3

Also, waiting for all waivers to end so I can pick up Dion Lewis and stash on IR, anyone else ya'll would recommend for IR?

Ideal. Very very smart and nicely done. Even with the WR heavy approach, you still have a solid RB core with DJ, Lanford, Sims.... Stacked at WR with Funchess as the maybe breakout guy this year.

I don't understand why some of you make sideway trades. The only way to make a trade is out of need. If your team needs a certain position then go out and trade for it out of strength. These trades that AR a wide receiver and running back for another wide receiver and running back that are just about equal make no sense to me. Maybe it's just me because I have not played in leagues that allow trades in a long time. Sometimes you could trade yourself out of contention

That last point is the reason for it. Last year I traded martellus bennett and Frank gore for Blount and ingram. Completely changed my season.

What's up yall...I got a 12 team league I've been running for about 7 years on Yahoo with a couple open spots I'm looking to fill. It's $100 buy in, full payout (1st-$800, 2nd-$300, 3rd-$100). Leaguesafe.com is used with the majority rules option. League is pretty standard as far as settings go except for a few defensive settings (not an IDP league). I will be setting a draft date once I get the league filled and get everyone's available times. I will be a snake draft. Payment due before the draft. If interested, PM me here or email 101madden@gmail.com.

Oh and people dont quit in the middle of the season in this league lol

Not sure how I feel about this team being successful in a league I just joined...

I'm rethinking my 2 Keepers for the upcoming season. Auction draft, $200 budget. Here are those worth consideration:
Julio Jones, $53
Jamaal Charles, $35
Latavius Murray, $17
Frank Gore, $4
Big Ben, $11

Julio is a lock. Was going to keep Ben but leaning towards JC now that I'm certain everyone will be keeping their RB1s. If I go with JC I'll be sure to lock up Ware as a handcuff. Thoughts?

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on Zeke at #5. My only concern is that they have pretty good depth at RB in Dallas and they'll steal his carries...

Any word on how many touches a game Zeke is expected to get from DAL?

Dude sounds like a knucklehead like Leveon.  I wouldnt pull the trigger at 5.  I feel like a drug test is likely on the horizon.

Knucklehead is a nice way of putting it

Lol at Zeke, with Dallas' oline I could see him putting up good numbers but he is still a risk imo.

Any thoughts on Demarco Murray? I'm thinking he'll put up decent numbers this season. What his adp in your deafts?
