The Official Nike LeBron 14 Thread. Retail $175

i'm s huge fan of the Kobe X and with it being EXT it's like a double whammy, the X EXT were the best Kobe exts released, it helps that design of the midsole was so drastic a change from the usual kobe line, now the 9 has me torn and only the ext on the box of the 4prs i have (yup complete 9ext collection) keeps them from being garbage, i hate the drop in midsole and it really for me ruins a great looking shoe and i found them like the Lebron XI's dropin midsole to be uncomfortable compared to the kobe x, lebron x and 12 for now they just sit in my closet but as it comes time to start narrowing what i actually like and dislike enough to get rid of, idk where the 9s will fall in sentimental ext value or garbage
 
i think the biggest problem with the 14s are the lack of sig identifier, like the only lebron logo on it is on the tab in the back and it's not that big, no lions no big crowns just that lil logo on the back

i think maybe a toe swish and lebron logo on the strap would've given it more of a sig feel

Dont forget about Petrie he is probably the worst of all, his designs have no thought behind em anymore just a mashup of past shoes Definitely an lj logo on the strap for sure, these one bootie uppers will kill Nike in the long run too much of a hit or miss in the fit bring back real tongues already
 
I don't think Petrie is only to blame for design or lack of LeBron on it. I think Nike likes having their logo over a players. Once Jordan stopped the outside branding completely with the 7, I think Nike didn't like that. Of course they like money, but when you already have money, you want things done your way to obtain more.

I don't think in this day and age Nike wants to see a shoe of theirs get over with the public without some serious "NIKE" or big "Swoosh" on it. Case in point: Kanye's Yeezy line. NIKE loves Control and if LeBron were to ever leave, it leave the shoe theirs. They can easily remove "LJ" or "LBJ"

 that didn't work out so well for reebok and their classics line, taking kemp's name off sucked, and you saw the big hurt fiasco, i don't think that nike can sell the lebron line with lebron's logo gone if he leaves grant it he's not going anywhere with that lifetime contract he's got

This. I'm so tired of icy soles. They used to be for special colorways, now they're on every damn Lebron.

yeah they were all over the 12s they even used translucent gum soles, which weren't bad actually, but some solid black and other colors could go a long way, i think nike right now is hooked on visible air

Icy soles are Nike/Jordan Brand's way to implement planned obsolescence into their product, setting you up to cop the retros a few years down the road after the sole yellows.

Very true redrum3281 redrum3281 , the LBJ sneaker line has predominantly been a Nike product with touches of LBJ specific motifs but this shoe is really lacking with any kind of LBJ specific themes.

I suppose it is simply because they redesigned it such a late stage that they had to quickly slap whatever they could on it.
 
So I guess these aren't the "christmas" but some other theme since other christmas shoes never get worn more than once per season
