NT Uber Drivers

whats uber messenger service
it's like any other messenger service. You pick up a package somewhere and drop it off somewhere else. More practical with a bike though, I just do it now since I'm free and it's a little change in my pocket. Looking to cop one of them foldable bike joints

Also you gotta be in a certain city, the service ain't available everywhere unless they changed it recently

If you drive a luxury car (bmw lexus etc) do you only take uber select passengers or can you pick anyone up?

Some things are bigger than money.
I don't use my everyday car for uber. I copped a clean 2006 Impala from an auction for 1k. It's the perfect uber car. I don't care about the extra miles and wear and tear because I only paid a g for it.

If you are an Uber driver, you are hustling backwards. It's pennies you are earning when you factor in time, wear & tear on your car, miles and taxes. I love the service though :smokin

alp, how long you been doing uberRUSH? was on it two summers ago & it was amazing then it just got worst & worst.

Started last year and yea they straight disrespectful with the wages now :smh:

how did it get worse? do they verify your bike and stuff?
they keep lowering prices and adding ******** to keep the workers from making guap.
The routine I've been doing is doing the bare minimum to achieve to bonus and then calling it a day. It used to be $30 to go to a different borough, which is 24 after their 20% cut but they dropped it to 25

back in the days each new food trip was minimum 14 dollars. you could've taken 2-3 of those an hour. & they were paying about 4-6 dollars a mile. i know guys who you were working 12 hours 7 days a week brining in over 2grand.

a few guys bought cars & would go on vacation every other month.

then like alp said they dropped wages to a straight up disrectful wage to the point where you have to work
hard for even 14 an hour lol

Yeah. I don't see how any cat would even consider this unless you're struggling / bored / or just like interacting with people for some reason.

Pay doesn't really seem worth it to me.

Those who do this uber and or lyft, I have a couple of questions for you,

Do you guys have regular jobs?

Do any of you lease your cars? I bet the mileage bill at the end of the term must be high.

How much more do you get paid if you have a luxury car?

What kind of car classifies as uberX?

I got a 2015 Honda Civic and a 2016 BMW X3. So if I decide to do Uber, will any of my cars be an UBER X ?

Ive never done it but pretty sure for uberx it just needs to be 04 or newer with 4 doors. The bmw would probably qualify for uberBlack.

Alao have the same question about lease. Not too many on leases are probably doing this.

If you wanna sign to do Uber, I got you!

I can show you the ropes, just PM me and I'll help you.

I would definitely watch an HBO series called Uber Confessions. Hopefully with the popularity of it, that will happen.

On another note, I don't know how you guys can do that. Using your personal car to transport strangers is so risky. I couldn't trust having people behind me not knowing what they could do to me. Also, I don't trust everyone to be respectful of my whip. Not to say that all people are grimey, but I'm assuming if something happens the driver is responsible for it and not Uber correct?

I assume that someone would be billed by uber if they do something like throw up in your car and uber would compensate you.

Also I just think being paid puts some of those concerns at ease when it comes to people

What were your taxes like bro? I'm driving now but thinking about not driving because I'm not trying to pay too much back in taxes?

In 2015 I only drove for three months, so it wasn't bad at all. It honestly depends on how much you drive and earn. I do it for 4 hours a week and earn about 120.

These two articles can help you out:

Got a friend that does uber. He brings in 800 on a normal week since he hits the surge pricing here but he does it full time. He put on over 35k miles in 8 months :x imo not worth the wear and tear you put in your car, plus the cleaning from passengers who ruin it.

I used to drive for Sidecar for fun, they were the first rideshare app to come out, but they didn't get enough funding and got beat by lyft and uber, so they ceased operations a few months ago. I did it when it the rideshare idea was new and it was fun. The money was real good back then, now there's way too many drivers out there. I used to strictly do SF to SFO airport trips, they were like $50 each way, today it would probably be $20 each way.

I heard this dude that didnt have a car had uber provide him one, and a phone. They must be f'n that dude wit no vaseline. I dont see how he can afford anything like that. Doesnt seem like its worth anything.

Im gonna hit the road after I get off work. Let's see how it goes today.
