Runner’s Body Is Found in Queens Marsh....Hung Jury p. 13

The Google Employee was SET ON FIRE?! What in the name of... :x

Nah, this has to be vindictive and premeditated.

As far as the Howard Beach story, that could of been completely a random-psycho job. Justice will prevail within the coming week, I'm sure of it.

She could've been set on fire to dispose of any DNA from the assault.

Ah yes, that's right. Good call.

Man, in broad daylight?

Sick people like this dont need prison time/p possibile death penalty only.

They need to be captured, beat, hung, then torched while dying in front of the whole community.

Them just chillin in prison in PC hidin from people isnt enough.

Vetrano had a clump of grassy weeds in her hand, perhaps from being dragged, and her teeth were knocked out.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told The New York Daily News that Vetrano appears to have put up a “ferocious fight.” Investigators found one of her shoes and an ear bud in the weeds, the newspaper said.

The department, which is offering a $10,000 reward in Vetrano’s case, says the murder was unusual and poses a “severe community
threat.”

Terrible man, those details are disturbing. you would think that her fingernails would have gotten the attackers DNA. if you punch someones teeth out with that type of force there's gotta be a good amount of DNA. But im merely assuming

Still no leads on the murderer? They need to chill with the "she put up a good fight" quotes and make some real progress on the case. Unless it's a professional murderer straight out of an HBO drama, they need to do better after it's been a full week now. NYPD detectives, too? Kinda scary precedent to set for the rest of the country. Solve the damn case.

Exactly

I don't want them to start guessing and start blaming innocent people in the media . This is a serious crime

Agreed, bro.

I did read last night that the police are warning people to be extra vigilant since the crime is unsolved. Maybe they're thinking this was a random attack and not someone who was stalking...who knows?

Also, it's really sad to read about that Google employee as well. RIP.

They're tryna pass this off as a pretty girl who happened to get attacked while running. Didn't believe it when I first heard it and still don't. Makes no sense, can't be random.

I have a cousin who lives out in Howard Beach. I'm out there at least twice a month, never would have guessed something like this could happen there. Howard Beach is the type of neighborhood that takes care of things "internally." Cosign on the atmosphere there also, people do a better job of hiding it now but they're still set in their ways.

A little ancecdote, before I was born my dad opened a supermarket on the border of Ozone Park and Howard Beach. A few months later a Western Beef opened up literally a block away. A few Italian gentleman paid my dad a visit basically telling him to close the store. Long story short my dad didn't listen but the business ended up closing anyway.

Very sad situation, RIP to both the joggers. Hope they find the killers.

With ole girl from Howard Beach, I have a gut feeling that someone close to her killed her or her pops owed someone bread and didn't pay up so that person took his daughter as payment. It's a reach but a possibility.

Sounds like it to me as well

Just peeped this thread.

Statistically, in most cases, rape/sexual assault. The victim/rapist usually has some type of relationship.

Meaning, her and the rapist have met eachother before. He knew her.

Oh was she? I didn't read the thread, just OP.

But even if you're "famous" from social network. Someone still has to know you, where you live, your routine.... ect.

A GoFundMe page was set up by Vetrano’s father, Phillip, in an effort to boost reward money — and smoke out new leads for investigators — had pulled in $213,010 as of 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

“Somebody knows something. Somebody has to say something, and with this amount of money maybe they will,” Vetrano said Wednesday. “What we need is someone to say ‘Hello, I know the guy.’

Vetrano told Newsday the money donated through the website would be added to $25,000 being held in a different account. The city’s reward money — $20,000 — is separate.

Phillip Vetrano said he remained involved in the case as a way of helping the family — himself included — cope with the tragedy.

“If I wake up and there is nothing for me to do, that is when the bottom is going to drop out,” he told reporters. “So I have to stay involved every day, in every way.”

Interesting.

Detectives also haven't ruled out that there may be a connection between Vetrano's murder and 27-year-old jogger, Vanessa Marcotte, the Google account manager who was reported missing by her mother when she didn’t return home from an afternoon jog in suburban Boston.

Man....
