Thanks for the replies.

That gave me some insight. I'm still kinda new to voting. So I wanted an understanding with why should you elect a President you don't care for, besides using them to knock out the candidate you dislike even more. I don't think I'm fully on board yet, but I'm getting there and I have a better understanding.

A lot of it makes sense.

You make dozens of small "lesser of the two evils" decisions daily. Everyone does. That's how life is. If you're married and you claim that your wife would be the #1 pick of all the women in the world if you had the choice, you're a flat out liar.

The problem is because this particular "lesser of the two evils" decision was not forced and was about something as abstract as a president, someone who'll be sitting all the way in Washington and someone you will probably never meet or even see, people suddenly feel they can afford to be all idealistic about it and make some moral statement by not voting/voting for a third party candidate they know won't win, because this particular decision doesn't seem as direct of a "lesser of two evils" decision as one you might encounter in your everyday life that you might be forced to make.

But a president has the power to affect your life in indirect ways you'll never know, especially now that he has the support of the Senate.

Great post.

What laws are you thinking of they can pass quickly that will have a direct impact on the black community?

We get pissed because your are not trying to be part of the solution. Outside of directly holding political office the only way to affect policy is by voting and voting often. This is bigger than one presidential election. You know why gay rights people have gotten initiatives through, because they are consistently part of the process they vote, they vote often, they lobby, they stay involved. We have far too many people with your mindset that either only vote every 4 years or worst stay at home them complain about lack of progress.

Get pissed at the system not at people who choose to not be part of it.

Tariq  breaks down why we shouldn't vote.

I listened to this this morning. Tariq kept it 1,000.

I'm sure Hidden Colors 5-Hidden Colors 11 will give us all the results and answers we're looking for champ. Good luck with that.

And y'all keep saying "see what happened" like 53% of white women ain't vote for him. 33% of Latino males and 26% of Latino females ain't vote for him. All people he offended. What y'all got to say to them?

If we choose to not participate in this BS so what. We disagree with your method.
I don't know why black folks keep thinking we are in this together.

I said it before Ill say it again.....WE STAND ALONE IN THIS COUNTRY!

Latinos are for the best interest of Latinos

Asians are for the best interest of Asians

Whites are for the best interest of Whites

Yet we are always the ones wanting to hold hands and sing Kumbaya or quick to say to other minorities "We are in this together"

NO WE ARE NOT!

WE BLACK AMERICANS HAVE NO ALLIES IN THIS COUNTRY AT ALL.

NOT EVEN OTHER MIGRANT BLACKS.

WAKE UP FOLKS!

"Kaepernick said. "So, for me, it's another face that's going to be the face of that system of oppression.

"And to me, it didn't really matter who went in there. The system still remains intact that oppresses people of color."

:pimp:
I'm with it.
I'm with kaep as well. I will never vote. Voting is a Waste of time. Whole system is corrupt. Voting ain't changing none of that. Just a way to make people think they have a say in anything.
We all slaves to this system and ain't nothing changing that.

Had this convo with my homeboy yesterday. Not only did he not vote he feels like Trump was the better candidate. Dude keeps citing the crime act bill from '94 and how Hilary called us "super predators" and was mentored by a KKK grand dragon. Tries to say Trump hasn't outright said anything negative about blacks and is inspired by a non politician winning the White House. I'm preaching to this man that the people before us died for the right to vote and off of that alone we have to respect the process. He then asks me if I've ever marched for anything, or do I drink at every water fountain I've ever come across because the people that came before us fought for that right too  His whole mindset is that voting is miniscule and that becoming a success and making something/ leaving something behind that the black community can use and benefit from for years to come is the real way. I then ask him how does that happen if you stand on the side and let the system put road blocks around to make sure none of that happens....

Like someone mentioned, you don't rebel against the system by helping it. Us not voting is helping the system...

I also had no idea that happened with Officer Peter Liang....

Disgusting!!!:smh:
That's always been the case though. You put up money for campaigns of mayors, District attorneys state reps, senators and they are going to look more favorable in your direction.

Bomani and sharp always keep it real. I'm suprised they still have their jobs

On point.

Funny thing is Hidden Colors actually does give real solutions that's better and make more sense than this voting ****. But I'm not gonna keep going back and forth about voting or not voting. Y'all can keep getting mad at me people for not voting when the same people you want acceptance from just spit your face.

I don't know if your friend is white or a minority, but they sound very lost and has let FoxNews pummel them with propaganda instead of facts

He's actually still saying get involved, but with money like the ones who actually get their way.

Anybody catch Ernie Johnson on NBA on TNT last night??

He openly talked about the election and said he wrote in John Kasick... then he said he is gonna pray that we say Trump presidency wasnt bad in a couple years

how yall feel about that?

a white man, that most of us think is pretty cool, had the opportunity to cast a vote against a bigot and vote for Hillary to make sure she got elected. but he didnt just like the millions of other white Americans that didnt vote for either candidate.

how does that make you feel? you rather ernie johnson's actions or Kaeps?

Ernie and the rest of that cast lost me (outside of basketball) with how dismissive they were being to serious black issues. Kenny smith was the only one who kept it real and you saw the frustration on his face. Another great thing kaep did was make a lot of people show their true colors.

Hillary lost with Trump getting less votes than Mc Cain and Romney. People who never voted went out and voted FOR Trump.

Is there a better example that every vote matters?

Have you seen how hard southern states worked to disenfranchize the black and latino vote this year?

The system doesn't want you to vote, because the system doesn't want to acknowledge your existence. Voting for black people should always be an affirmation of their relevance in America.

Trump being in power is the fault of every person who would have benefited from her policies but chose to stay home.

There really should be no 'let's give him a chance' or 'hope for the best '. The best hope is that he isn't able to accomplish anything he sets out to do. We know who he is, this isn't a maybe it'll be ok situation. Would you let a blind man chauffeur you around town talking bout just give him a chance? FOH
