There have actually been quite a few feasible solutions proposed that could curtail this real quick.

giving players 0s in the box score is dumb because how do you determine if a player isn't really sick or injured

making players rest for atleast 5 games is dumb because now you're making more fans suffer

fining them is feasible but I highly doubt it would deter teams from resting players

y'all dudes just sound extremely entitled yet you wanna complain about thibs running players into the ground

The NBA should adopt the NHL model and give every team a week off during the season. Every NHL team gets a week off during the season throughout the year for rest. Like a bye week in the NFL.

I'm learning so much about NHL . It was only a couple years ago when I realized their season is exactly parallel with the nba. That week long bye is a great idea tho. But then wouldn't they have to overcompensate and cram some games together to make up for it?

The stats stipulation would help but guys will just more creative.

****** gonna start getting hurt playing with their dogs and in the shower like MLB players.

Remember when Jordan took entire seasons off?

Jordan played 82 games 37 minutes per his last season as a Wizard. These under 30 guys have no excuse.

The league is just soft. NHL players play 82 games and back to backs. They don't sit players like this.

didn't have to worry about saving him for the playoffs.

I'm not mad at teams protecting their multimillion dollar investments. Look at Memphis. They backed all them Brinx Trucks up to Chandler's house and then forced Fizdale to play him because of it and now he's out for the rest of the season.

How is it making more fans suffer? They would know ahead of time what's going on. A perfectly healthy lebron rested in November. Everyone would know that means he's sitting out game 1 of the first round and if they do it again it'll be another game. Just wash, rince, and repeat until they don't find it in their best interest to rest games anymore.

Point blank, the league is more powerful than the players. If the league tomorrow said that it was going to flex its muscle on the issue and nip it in the bud, it'll happen.

The NHL does way too many back to backs for the likings of this current generation of NBA players despite the bye week concept they have.

the nba is nothing without the superstars
and I don't like the playoffs idea either

In the NFL last year the Giants played 36 year old Eli Manning the final game of the season in a meaningless game. Playoff seed was locked win or lose.

This is just a bad look for the Association. The players themselves look bad because if they really wanted to play they would. I don't place the blame on management.

Why don't you like the playoff idea. asking because you didn't offer an explanation.

And superstars come and go. The league will always have a face of the league to market.

I will say this though. The NBA can't have it both ways and that's where they set themselves up for the scrutiny. They market individual players more than they do respective teams. It's a lot of people who are lebron fans (not Cavs fans) kobe fans (not Laker fans) etc and that's due to how the NBA markets things.

If they didn't promote individual players to sell their product the way they did, perhaps less people are upset about that joke of a Clippers Cavs game.

nfl plays once a week
and players play half of the game
i'm not too familiar with soccer but do players play every game?

I hope the Wizards and Rockets meet in the Finals. That would end the rest conversation. Neither team rest its stars. Beal has only missed 4 games this season and 0 in the last few months.

I feel bad for the daughter that her parents would ***** her on social media like that.

Lebron has played more minutes than any other player in the league and has his eye on a bigger prize

The nature of the game makes up for all of that. How many times have we all heard of players having to be forced to sit out. Dudes get concussions and try to hide it to go back in games. Warrior mentality. Tuff guys league and game.

For the past few years I've always bought my tickets the nights before or day of, I know Better.

Also if I could tell my boss I'm not working today without any consequences anytime I want, I would. So I can't be mad at them.

As if the damn Wizards or Rockets are good enough to rest a players like they are GSW/CLE.

I think a lot of this just stems from the fact that people know we are getting CLE/GSW again and folks don't like that idea rubbed in their faces
