**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

To Whip using total contests and what not...

He's saying these guys have more contests over a full season, like Russell hasn't sat for almost a month total

If you played an extra 500 minutes, I'd hope you'd have more contested shots over someone else.

Said this last night on Twitter, like it even more the more I see of Zu.

DLo
Clarkson
Ingram
Randle/Nance
Zubac

Potential top 3 pick. All 7 25 and under.

And still enough cap space to add a piece in 2017 or 18.

And if Mitch could sell Lou or Nick for another pick and/or young piece, all the better to have another asset in the mix.

As that group reaches ages 26-25-24-23 etc, (Clarkson bein the oldest one) we'll start seein results.

Deng-Moz assuming the vet leadership roles/depth, etc.

Add to that, the core growing year after year WITH Luke, year 2-3 the results will come.

Pick whoever as a max target, PG, Russ, Noel, Hayward, etc. Landing one of them, at some point, of course accelerates the timetable.

By the time that core is built up and running, GSW should start winding down, Bron will be done, Wade, Melo, CP3 etc.

Patience will be required for the long game. No need to rush splash trades. But certainly room to buy up value deals, like Ariza, or Shannon Brown cheap depth types.

@Essential1

So you trying to say DLo plays with energy and hustles? You tryin to say had DLo played his extra 500 minutes that he'd be known on the team as one of its most energetic players who plays with max effort every game? LOL

DLo one of the laziest kids on the team bruh. Thought you knew.

You just used nonsense rationalization of stats to try to prove something.... After saying stats mean nothing

"Russell is dead last among guys in Total Contests"

When you got guys who have played 300, 400, 500 more minutes... For a lot of guys that's 10-15+ games...

In 10-15 extra games, I would hope that they have more contested shots.

Got you

But seriously nobody on this team plays with energy all the time. Nobody, ain't no hustle dudes on this team. Maybe Nance Jr at times.

Had Russell played 500 more minutes, his sore knees would've been so broken down his contested shots and loose balls recovered would have gone up in such a minuscule amount that nothing you said would have mattered. You act like those 500 minutes would have made such a drastic difference given Russell's demeanor and tendencies on the court. You must not be paying attention to the intangibles LOL

and btw...total contested shots does NOT favor bigs over guards. There are just as many outside shots in today's game as there are shots in the paint. Which means....there are PLENTY of opportunities for guards to contest shots.

One more thing...don't get twisted young fella....It's "stats don't mean everything", NOT "stats don't mean nothing."

Zubac = double double machine DELUXE in the making.

But yeah, some dudes here don't think Zubac will be a vital piece to a championship contending team should the Lakers end up becoming one in 4 years' time.

If you can't recognize the raw talent this kid has, what he brings to the table based on HOW HE PLAYS ON THE COURT AS A 19-year old, and that he has TREMENDOUS upside, then you don't know big man basketball.

It's dumb as hell to go back and forth about who's the core when none of these dudes are close to finished products.

Hopefully all these dudes will max. Ya'll just love arguing about nonsense.

Not eeem trolling......

Zubac is a steal.

Lakers need to learn to not be beholden to draft status. Talent is talent. And Zubac may have the most potential next to BI.

All the great rebuilds require finding steals.

Averages.. Whip.. Averages..

Those 500 minutes are not during games he's played, it's in one's he didn't. Not like I said he should be playing 48 minutes per game...

you can argue it based on how each player is performing with the minutes their given, how consistent their effort has been, and patterns the coach has been using (i.e., Luke benching Randle and DLo in the 4th quarter of games, Ingram constantly leading the team in minutes, etc).

So far, Zubac has had only 1 bad game (vs DAL, but everyone had a bad game that day).

So far, Clarkson's effort has been darn consistent every game. He's gonna give you double figures scoring off the bench and hustle.

So far, Luke has showed tremendous confidence in B.I. by virtue of how many minutes and different positions he's playing.

So far, it's clear Randle and DLo are wildly inconsistent and at times it's so obvious how little effort they give on the floor when their team needs them most.

One thing is a given, the Lakers are going to lose the game 70% of the time. But what's not a given is the effort level of each player night in night out. That's what I'm sure the coaching staff and management is comparing in their ultimate decision to eventually keep/trade a player.

I see you discovered Hustle Stats for the very first time tonight. Great job!

I expect you to learn how to dissect these numbers in order to formulate player assumptions using intangibles as we move forward with the course.

Class dismissed.

I guess man.

This man knows

That man loves Emmanuel Mudiay

Ingram scoreless back to back games, 2 for his last 23 shooting.

If that was someone else.......
