GET OUT -- New horror film about black man meeting white gf's parents. Looks creepy.

I think a prequel would be great, it would show how the house workers were abducted, along with a buildup story halfway thru the movie of the 'Brooklyn' dude...i can see the ending of the movie being when the girlfriend first meets Chris and the movie cuts off (all the character names are slipping from me right now)

It can even detail how the Ameritage family "perfected" the Coagula, as someone in here mentioned already

It would be a challenge trying to recapture that magic of the first film, if it is indeed a sequel

Another shock to me was the Asian guy at the party. I had the Scooby-Doo face on like

View media item 2360827 He just stood out like a sore thumb. Lol wasn't expecting that.

I'm glad that was included though. Shows no matter what race/ethnicity you are , you can still contribute to white supremacy.
What's up with Asians who's first names are Matthew, Amy, etc, but their last names are Wu, Cha.:nerd:

gotta get down wit da american culture i guess. asian dude in the movie caught me off guard. i looked at him like "my man you a minority too, you aint get the memo?"

If he's been missing for 6 months, is found, thanks to Chris, in a small town several miles away from his home address with new surgical scars on his head, in addition to the missing bodies of grandma & grandpa who have identical surgical scars on their heads, and bug out whenever you flash them in the face there's no way Chris would go down for assault/murder in a trial.

You're assuming the police believe the "hypnotized" portion of the story. Police aren't just going to test the "flash" theory because a random black dude says so.

Chris' lawyer can plant someone in the crowd at the trial & have them do it when Dre/Grandma/Grandpa takes the stand.

Even if you throw that out, you have three people that have been missing for months-years, they turn up in the exact same town & did not notify anyone that they weren't missing anymore. All 3 are found with strange surgery scars on their head that were not present prior to their disappearance.

Where there's smoke there's fire, there's a **** ton of smoke there. You just have to create reasonable doubt & there's certainly enough there.

Forgot about this track. 1996. Props to homeboy that reminded me. Fitting for this thread.

What would they do for a sequel anyway? I thought they closed it pretty well. Unless they use a different cast, because I'm sure homeboy is done with white women forever.

The sequel will be a mashup with Moonight.... "Get Out of the Moonlight"

Big Chiron moves in with his lover, and he visits the family during thanksgiving...only to find out that his parents are an interracial couple...Andre(Brooklyn) is the father, and the white lady is the mother. :wow: They kidnap him and try to take over his body

Umm more like there are non whites who align with systematic white supremacy idealolgies.

Lol many non blacks have no issue with systematic white supremacy until their card gets pulled i.e non black minorties under the Trump presidenacy.

hahaha i was shocked dude was british too. but not because of the part he played, but just how well he covered his deep accent. I saw 15 million merits like a couple days after and was mind blown.

Samuel L. Jackson throwing shade at the film

Samuel L. Jackson critiques 'Get Out' casting
Not throwing shade. Bringing up a discussion about things. For example if you've seen that Netflix movie imperial dreams, John Boyega is horrible in it. Nothing about his performance shows that he has a grasp on the black American male experience at all. From how he dresses, no regional accent at all etc. maybe if an American actor was cast in that role they would've been able embody it better

JB didn't deliver? Wow I had Imperial Dreams on my to do list. I'll check it out. Shocked to hear that

He's supposed to be playing a single father reformed gangster out of jail and from California. Nothing about how he acted the character would tell you that. If I told you he's a college student from Florida you wouldn't be able to see any difference. He put zero effort into becoming the character. Acting is more than just putting in your usual American accent and reading lines

haven't watched the Sam Jackson video but sounds like it's one of those "is he black enough" deals

He's more saying he's not black American enough. But he actually isn't really hating on anybody and it's quite civil. He's wondering if a black guy from America could've brought more to the role than a British black guy because the black American male experience is different and there are subtleties you gain

But in the case with get Out, Jordan Peele brings that with his direction. Where as if you maybe had a white director and a black English actor it may not have had any of the small things that we may have noticed

Seems live a civil question. Maybe someone who's really experienced what it's like in America would bring more to the role, but that's also where Jordan comes in and why he chose to direct it. Daniel did a great job.

But that's the issue I have with him even asking that, not necessarily bad question, the guy did a great job. What was missing? Any part could be played better, why ask this question

Well he didn't really criticize Kaluuya or his acting. He just mentioned that the experiences are different.

His point also brings up the issue with the fact that there are rarely any roles for black American actors and then when you throw in English or French black actors into the mix it starts to create a "they took err jobs" mentality. Because your sitting here wondering why the British guy gets the role of an la gangster when I'm from LA and an actor

I can see both sides to sams question, but sam admitted he hadn't seen the movie yet so imo he can't ask that question without seeing the movie.

But I understand he trying to promote american talent first in a role like that. He mentioned how the movie Selma had british actors playing MLK and wife
