Rent a spoons

There's already a Rent-Em-Spoons

It may be more difficult now because of more competition but look up "amazon private labeling" if you're good with SEO and figure out amazon's A9 you can make millions. srs
You can still do it. Just don't fall for any of the "gurus" courses. You're probably not going to make a million net in the first year.

If you're not revising or making your own product it's no point. Private labeling can just be changing the colors and slapping your own label on it. But that does nothing because the next man can undersell you and you're on the race to the bottom. Never compete on lowest price. It's a lose lose.

If you choose to go this route, use Amazon as a channel and not the only platform. I know folks who used to do 6 figure a month on Amazon and if they get shut down, they're out of luck. Not to mention that they're Amazon's customers and not yours. You don't get their information to build future funnels or anything.

Hardest tasks for me when I did this were finding trust worthy suppliers, a lot of these Chinese manufacturers know folks want the get rich quick scheme so you have to weed out the bad ones and go with your guts. Also ask for samples and hire 3rd party to do QA testing before it leaves the country. I got burned with this before. Contact a professional to help with the best way to transport. The duty can be $$$.

I would stay away from a physical store. That $15k is going to be sucked up fast between rent and other overhead not to mention other nuances like obtaining licenses.

Stay away from trends. People opened yogurt shops when Pinkberry became popular and most around the area closed. Same with boba shops. That was popping around 2003-2008/9 around here.

My advice is to never jump into something because of peer pressure. Money is out there in abundance. School yourself first. Get some mentors.

https://www.score.org is a great source to finding local mentors that doesn't cost anything. You can browse them and see what they're experts in. Make an appointment and absorb their knowledge. These older dudes are willing to drop gems on you if you're humble and not entitled like what millenials are perceived to be.

Good advice. Thanks for that. I figure useful items do well on Amazon like phone accessories that people have to replace often, right?
Real estate. Use an FHA loan. Cop a 4 unit apartment in the Midwest. Stack rents.

this. catch a fixer upper near the new Dome.

Yeah, I was thinking about looking at some properties around the Bluff. I'm liking the vending machine idea though... That's easy to scale and can be low maintenance, but I'm not sure how quick that return would come... But I can already think of some good locations...

Put down on a 18 wheeler and lease on as a owner operator . Easily bringing in 3500-7000 a week .

$15k I'd rent a crib and hire like 4-6 girls to do cam shows in rotations throughout the day. Round the clock finessin, 24 hours a day with Sundays off.

Legit, but I'm not sure how happy wifey would be with this. Haha... It is legit though, and Atlanta is a good city for it.

A dream of mine has always been to create my own film studio. I know 15k ain't cutting it but I'd love to work in animation and create quality films for people to enjoy

a dream of mine a long time ago that ive always kinda kept in my mind was a food truck, but geared more towards healthy and gym conscious people

everyone knows that good/healthy solid food after the gym is the best thing for you so my idea was to make quick paleo/whole food inspired meals and park outside gyms at their peak hours.

overhead and costs would be low, as i would be just making proteins and veggies, and people are all about those home delivery meals, so i figure, be waiting for them right out the gym. this obviously isnt anything new or a get rich quick idea, but i thought it was a solid plan

Since a lot of larger commercial gyms have their own bars, they might not let you park out there. If you can get permission from a smaller gym, it might be fine.

I would start a mobile valet company. I used to work for a company that would valet park for house parties/museums/restaurants etc around the DMV. Just gotta hire some people who want to work part time and have them run the event. You could contract with some restaurants around town who want valet parking at their restaurant but don't want the hassle of managing it. Biggest expense would be buying a liability car insurance policy to cover accidents.

Not sure what exactly, but investing in weed in California.
Everyone wants in now that Prop 64 passed. From what I've learned with those already in the game from the medicinal subfield...it's hard for a newcomer to get in unless you have huge funds to start up.

This is cool and something I would look into as well. Like you mentioned biggest expense would be to cover insurance.

When I dine out on weekends, a lot of the places we go to have valet. They charge $8-12, and merely park the car 100-200 feet away at a parking lot of a business that's closed already (like a dry cleaner's). I'm not sure what the logistics is, but I figure you can get up and running easily.

There's nothing wrong with running a blue collar type operation by the way. Lots of millionaires operating plumbing, lawn care, etc. businesses.

RE: vending machines...how often do you guys use them though? The last time I personally used one was at my old corporate building for quick snacks since we didn't have an in house cafeteria, and to get to Starbucks and such would require a drive. This machine did market itself well. They only put healthier snacks in, and of course charged accordingly.

15K? Probably build a music studio and become the best producer music has seen since..... Quincy Jones

Cop a couple Bitcoin ATM's and put them in areas with a good amount of foot traffic. People will buy with cash at a 10-12% markup, which is around $100-$120 above the market price.

I worked for a valet company that started off small, getting whatever jobs they could get like private parties or parking garages maybe a hotel. now they basically do everything valet related on the island.

Open up a mobile edible shop and grow my own plant material.
I'm near 3 college campuses, like 10 mins from each other, so maybe something cheap food related like a food cart for all my broke people outchea.

If I can make enough money to survive and not be stressed every month I would be satisfied with my business endeavor(s).

ive seen this idea in the stay/getback in shape thread.... :nerd:

Nope, not saying anything.

Then I end up seeing my idea blow up into something good and I get nothing out of it.

What about the real estate needed to house the cars?  Where are you parking the cars in DC?  Seems like you would have to own a parking lot to do that successfully.

oh i forgot to mention I live in a smaller town. we dont really have commercial gyms except for world gym. that was another caveat to this idea. aside from some rtd protein drinks and nutrition bars, none of the gyms where I live have any sort of post gym amenities. so i was thinking maybe a small kickback to the gym im at or some sort of rental fee a month.
