I see a lot of misinformation online (including NT) regarding YouTube and how the partner program works, so I decided to finally clear some of that up. I have two (relatively) successful channels. However, I will only share information and numbers from one of them since the other is a channel that I share with my girlfriend.

The things I can't discuss:

- Any Google tech/IP related to the program.

- Any metrics Google uses to grade performance.

- Any beta features of the service.

- Anything related to the service that isn't already publicly available.

The things I won't discuss:

I won't give  an exact number with regards to how much I make. I can give you an idea, but I won't come out and say I make X amount.

Hoping this can help others who may be interested in generating a little extra income on the side.

The below screenshot contains basic numbers from January of this year through April. This is intended to give you a reference point for any questions you may have or for any information I share.

How does the payout work? Is it like Uber/Lyft drivers were you can cash out at anytime or are you on some type of bi-weekly/monthly schedule?

The only question that needs to be answered is what's the money break down as far as how much you get for views comments and likes and what not.

That's actually the worst thing about it. You get paid once a month, and it isn't until the ~22nd of the following month.

So, for instance, take last month for example. Whatever was generated during that month should be in my adsense account later today (it's supposed to be there around the 10th) and I won't be paid until next Monday or Tuesday since the processing dates fell on a weekend this month.

It doesn't really work that way. You get paid based on impressions. Which are ads that are viewed and/or clicked.

How many hours a week total do you spend on average on the 2 channels? Is this your only venture or do you have a day job and/or other ventures as well? Do you consider this hard work?

How long did it take till you start seeing good revenue from your channel?

Does subs tie in to how much you make?

Care to leave a link of your said channel? :nerd:

I post around 1 video a week on my channel, so with filming and editing I'd say I spend about 6 hours, maybe. That's a really rough estimate.

The channel that share really doesn't get that many uploads. Most would be around twice a month, but on average it'll be once. Those videos are a bit longer, however, so the shooting and editing times are a bit longer since you're working with much more content. If I had to guess, I'd say total time on one of those videos would be around 10 maybe 12. Factoring in filming is tough because it doesn't really feel like extra work or anything.

As for your second question, no. This is not my only venture. I couldn't imagine solely relying on YouTube as my only source of income, no matter how big the channel ever gets. Just take a look at Epic Meal Time.

To answer your last question: I do work hard, but I do not consider it in anyway to be hard work.

~$2.20 for every 1,000 views.

1. I'd say around 4 or 5 months. It's very east to get discouraged at first. But as long as you are making good videos, the "success" will follow. It's important to remember that in those early times, you're basically proving yourself to YouTube. Stick it out, and continue to improve, and you'll get what you want out of it.

2. They do, but indirectly. Subs are the lifeline of you're channel. They are the ones that will drive all of your initial views. They'll be the ones commenting in your comments section. And they'll be the ones that will always come back. They also play a large part in determining the perceived quality of you're channel.

3. I do.

-He's got 5.8 million views

-His revenue is about: $8,506 for this year

How much $$ is Boogie2988 pulling down a month, him and Emergency Awesome really the only channels I follow hardcore

Could you do the math on how much fousey makes a month and break it all down from the views, subs, and ads.

Does the thumbs up and down help create revenue?

All I know is from a couople youtubers that have shared how much they make, it turns out they make the number of subscribers/5=yearly income amount.
So someone that has 150k subscribers makes 30k a year.

I've literally answered every single question.

No way of telling. I don't know who either of those people are and I'm too lazy to look them up, but a lot of factors go in to determining how much a channel makes.

First part: No.

Second: In a sense. YouTube doesn't share all the variables that go into how they determine what channels/videos to suggest and push, but I think it's fair to say that a channel that is generally more liked will also be viewed much more favorably by YouTube's algos.
Can we get a NT collab on your channel?

Has NT ever inspired your content?
Not really sure how a collab would work.

No.

This is false. And if it happens to be true for your friends, then it is purely correlative.

So you just not gonna post your Youtube channel OP?
No. It's not relevant and there are far too many weirdos on NT.

And that really wasn't the point of this thread. I didn't make the thread looking for views or new subscribers. I made the thread to answer questions others may have and to give advice to those that are thinking about trying their hand at it. The sole purpose of me even posting the stats was to assure people that the answers were coming from a legitimate source.

He does YouTube full time, I know he purchased a new home from it says he lives in a small town so living expenses aren't that high...it's funny cause he said If anything I'll send my wife back to work lol I think he disabled
