He could easily give a mixtape of just rapping. 8 out of 10 was one of the most refreshing tracks from him I've heard from him in a while. Very reminiscent of Comeback Season. He actually sounded inspired on that track instead of using his laid back flow.

Mixtapes don't exist anymore, especially for an artist like Drake. He tried twice to put out a mixtape in 2015 which turned into an album and he's only gotten much bigger since then.

Mixtapes don't exist, and no one would allow Drake to put out a tape at this stage of his career.

Scorpion is Drake, I could understand the complaints if bruh was selling out and doing songs with Taylor Swift and Imagine Dragons but he’s not. R&B and on trend Rap is just as much a part of Drake’s DNA as Rap is. Asking him to do an all lyrical miracle album is limiting him as a creative.

He could have done that but that’s not what he wanted to do. Again, I don’t think dude is Cappadonna forcing himself to do those records you don’t like for the sake of casual fans and sales. He’s multifaceted. Which is why his fan base is so large and diverse.
