It would be nice for every team to have a shot at a #1 overall every few years. Wouldnt you be pissed if your pick was Anthony Bennet though

Why is it so hard to just do like the NFL? Worst record gets the #1 pick and so on?
Because tanking will happen. NFL one player can't change everything (most of the time). NBA, one player can change everything
Awful idea. Spurs could draft Duncan in '97, win a few titles, then draft Yao in '02 just as Admiral is retiring. Or if they end up at #6, they could "reach" and take AmarePer Lowe, the system is also set up so "every team would be guaranteed one top-six pick every five seasons, and at least one top-12 pick in every four-year span," basically ensuring that at no point in the "wheel" are teams forced to endure years of unfavorable draft spots
