2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

All these deals are horrible, even if the cap was infinity x infinity. And teams really are pulling out all the stops and HOF'ers to go sign the Kent Bazemore's of the world? BTW, he was born in 89, don't know how much Clyde impressed him anyways. I need to hear Barkley commentary on these contracts (If I was in the league today, I'd be coming to the games in a spaceship)

The Thunder scoffed on James Harden at his max, would have been 4/58. Let Reggie walk (he didn't want to be here, granted but money was in an issue as he rejected their early offer before he started being a locker room distraction) because they didn't want to give him more than 12mil per. Fast forward to giving Kantner 17m a year x 5 yrs, and Dion who is worse than either is probably looking at 16 to 18 mil per.

Interesting.

Tristan just finished a run to the finals and he's playing for Team Canada. Andrew Wiggins is resting in LA from a grueling 20 win campaign. :nerd:

While Andrew Wiggins in LA all summer on a thot Safari, not playing for his country I wonder if he is going to have any more ugly shoes to sell the Canadian market?:nerd:

Maybe he's resting up to play 45 minutes a game for Thibs?

Austin needs to fire his agent if he only gets 8 mil a year.

Being conservative on the Austin Outlook but I kind of agree with you.

But over his last like 65 games last year he was at almost 11ppg on like 40% on 3's on high volume and was guarding 1 through 3's. Was doing all of that in just over 20 min. Was even better than that as a starter.. And he's 23. Those are great numbers for a backup swing guard if he can stabalize that production moving forward.

Brad Beal was injured all the time in High School, College and the Pros.

I think the smart money is on that continuing.
AT EVERY LEVEL, EVERY YEAR starting late in his HS career.

That contract going to look wild when plays 210 games over the next 4 years.
I do think he probably won't live up to it, this is true.

Right now, in this current landscape, in their present situation, it's a move the Wizards had to do though. You can't just let him go for nothing.

I question not seeing the writing on the wall much sooner by being aggressive and dealing him before it reached this point. It is what it is.

Maybe he can string enough games in the next year or two that you could sucker some team into acquiring him for a decent haul. Bring byke something more reliable.

But anyways, he'll be a Knick in 5 years so it's whatever.

Kings working on an offer sheet for who do you think?

Just guess.....

Dion Waiters.

The Kings of putting together ill fitting players. I still remember them signing Jason Thompson bum *** to that 98 yr/ all the millions of dollars contract a few years back. They can have him. He played well and I like him, teammates like him, but at this point he's redundant to Dipo and not a pure enough shooter to adjust his role to just that.

All these deals are making Horford to OKC more realistic. 17 m for Kantner doesn't seem so bad anymore when Mozgov gets 16. Reportedly, teams have been calling the Thunder about Singler. I think we'd have to move Morrow too and he's cheap, 5 mil, for a specialist of his caliber and maybe even Irsan can be cut before a certain point and he becomes only 400k. I don't like Horford that much though

That Beal deal and DeRozan. Teams are going to be regretting those not even halfway in, to the 1st season.

Lillard. McCollum. Parsons on a bad knee. Gonna need 2011 Dwight to help out on defense.

both you guys make a good case... It would've been nice to see Wiggins show up for his country though.

The kid can do what he wants, he has no financial incentive to even play for Team Canada, not to mention they don't have a chance at doing anything significant this year.

He's working on his expanding his game which is way more important than him playing for Team Canada right now.

You act like he's not popular in America or something, young kids here love him, he's not dependent on the Canadian market and they will still support him, you're tripping.

I really hate the Sixers man.

Noel and Simmons is perfect for todays NBA. Trade Okafor already, keep Embiid for a back up role. Its not rocket science.
the problem is there isn't really a market for a big man that can score and cant do much else

Wow Blazers going to jump in with Orlando/LA/Raps in destroying their future, I see y'all.

What they doing is actually worse, there's no way they get Parsons/Dwight at less than 40 million per that would put them right at the salary cap and make them unable to bring back Crabbe.

You can't make this stuff up.

He has quite a few endorsement aimed specifically at the Canadian market.

He and his team clearly thinks it profitable to market himself as "Canadian" and exploit this market.

Intresting that he won't sacrifice a little to cement that relationship. and he was ghost vs Venzuela.

I'll keep that in mind next time Wiggins tries to push more of that pink sewer water/fake Gatorade to sell Canadians while he doesn't represent his country,

So did whiteside get the max? Tek gets his center back but wasn't he saying he wouldn't get a max deal?

No, I explained why Riley would offer less than the max. Like I said a couple days ago, Riley isn't stupid enough to lose Whiteside over 4 or 5 million. The question is, what do we do with wade now

I can understand the position Washington was in. There's always a place for shooters in the NBA. I just wonder how easy it'll be to trade the contract in a couple years if things don't work out.

Gotta hand it to you. Those clips you emptied were not in vain.

Not out the woods yet. Since everyone around the league getting fed, wade won't accept a small contact again, and he shouldn't. I'm thinking we dip into luxury tax very soon. Micky can afford it

That one is tough, is there enough money, you know Deng is walking, but it isn't Miami without Wade, he's been taking less all these years, man wants his money, like Stewey.
