Does it diminish Steph as a player like it did Bean if in 2 of his 3 titles he doesn't get FMVP?

The narrative surrounding Stephs 2015 NBA Finals is crazy.

Guy finished that series with 26-6-5 on 44-39-89 and the last three games he averaged 24-5-6 on almost 50-40-90.

He was balling that series.

Just like we argue with Russ's triple double, it's just stats. Watching a lot of those games. He gets a bulk of those points when they're front running and in no threat of losing. But when it's crunch time that guy is absolutely nowhere to be found. Unlike the playoffs and regular season where he flat out destroys teams in crunch time.

He was really good in 2015. Last year he was trash though. He looked shook and got embarrassed.

It diminished Kobe because people kept trying to argue that he was equally as good/important as Shaq.

Steph 2015 Finals has been explained and no one thinks he's better than Kevin Durant. This has been Durants team since he got there.

If they would have won last year Draymond was getting the MVP though.

Everyone getting exposed in these playoffs.

LMA is a bum.
CP3 letting Joe Johnson and Rodney Hood do them in.
IT isn't better then advanced age Rondo.
Jimmy Butler isn't a star.
Spurs outside of Kawhi (real MVP) are trash.
PG13 isn't a clutch guy.
Brad Beal stinking up the playoffs building houses.
Any coach can win with the Warriors.
Blake is damaged goods.
Lowry is playoff trash.
Russ is the empty stat God.
Milsap is a baby of cry.

Again...depends on what lens you want to view it through.

If you're still stuck on individuality and the idea of "being the man"...then you think it's "KD's Team".

Same thing happened when KD went down and Steph started going off and a bunch of people start saying "It's Steph's team".

Good thing it seems like THEY don't feed into any of that nonsense. The beauty of watching them play is that everything is extremely unselfish. Nobody's worried about "who's who". The ball moves...everybody eats.

EXACTLY.

It's sad that some believe 1 on 5 represents some type of elevated basketball.  The reason Tim Duncan remains eternally underrated.  I am not a hater of Kobe or Iverson, but its the reason they remain a little overrated, too.

Oh yeah I agree man, but you know a narrative has to be created for everything and that's exactly what is going to happen.

Another issue is the defense from the bigs and for this I was victim of the regular season. Gasol and Lee look helpless out there, especially my guy David Lee. It's Knicks Lee all over again.
Been trying to tell you for years man.  Dude is trash.

The contradiction in how we view the game is really amazing when you think about it

We yell "_______ needs more help" when they put up amazing numbers and have to carry the load.

Then we ***** about competitive balance or say "but he has all stars on his team" to knock someone.

Fans don't know what the hell they want.

that's literally not true at all. all commentators, especially gsw heads, all their fans, Ros, the players, KD, they all know its steph's team and they only go as far as he takes them. KD is a 1b. But he likes not having to be the guy. Not having the **** shower on him if things go belly up. Team has been doing just fine without him. They've gone like what, 24-5 with him out of the lineup or something? With curry averaging that 30 piece? Yea bruh. Wardell got it.

it's crazy because a similar narrative exists that KD was trash in the 2012 finals

nah, theres no narrative that says that any where. you were a fetus in 2012, how would you even know? Harden was trash. KD got cheated on that game winner in game 2. NBA some hos for that series.

There's this vicious cycle of certain players (Carmelo is the poster child) who play just well enough to inflate their own numbers while having a negative impact on the players around them.  Which leads to excuses for them continuing to play this way.  And some fans will always look to elevate this style above all else while denigrating the guys whose play actually improves their teammates.

Even LeBron got heat for this in the past for passing instead of taking the shot himself or whatever else.  "He's not a true Alpha Dog."

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but one thing I loved about KD's decision is that he just wanted to play pure basketball and be part of great team chemistry.  It actually means he sacrificed a lot of ego.
