Supply and Demand. Pairs are drying up.
Really depends on the size, though. I do see some for $600, but majority are $900.
Same with Beluga's. There are some at $750 and then most are at $1250.

Truly. Mostly all besides maybe the black/red, not the bred ones, were pretty bad. green, copper, etc. No idea how prices went up. No one wanted in the first place.
