This past Saturday I take out my air Jordan IV retros. I haven't worn them in years. I've probably worn them like 5-6 times.
While I was walking in them the sole completely tore off starting from the back end!! I could feel something happening to my show
when I look down My sole was tearing off! I store my shoes in their respected box and in my closet. NO Moisture nor mold.
Why did this happen?! I have pics I just don't know how to post them. I'm afraid this might happen to my other Jordan shoes!
Is NIKE this cheap where they go as to use poor quality material then charge the consumer $150?

Wow I was always told as long as you wear the shoe a couple times it activates the glue that is used to make sneakers. Im a bit disappointed that your foursare falling to pieces on you.

YES they were my 99' retros white cement grays.
Which means I had them over 9 years. ALMOST deadstock!
I'm freekin fuming about this. I took pics of the damage and will send to NIKE.
I don't think they will respond to me BUT it's the principal of the the matter!
If they are going to charge high prices for their products then they should use better quality material.

Anyone know how I can post pic? Or I can email the pics to someone so they can post for me. lmk.

Sorry guy but thats expected. You have to keep wearing them so the foam doesn't harden. DS 99 will break, non DS tend to last longer. I know that soundsodd, but other people will agree with this statement.

thats the truth. you gotta wear them every once in a blue moon. even in the house for 30 min.

To the above poster who said non DS 99s last longer, TOTALLY TRUE.

I have some 99 white cement retros, that I still occasionally wear. They were my hooping shoe for like 2 years, and still have some life left. Got anotherpair of 99s, Black/reds, near DS, WORE THEM ONCE AND COMPLETELY FELL APART.

They're sitting in my garage, with the Nike Air symbol staring at me. Don't have the heart to chuck em.

Crap! All of these stories about how people IV came apart got my all paranoid to wear mines, smh.

Now I really wish that Brand Jordan would retro these this year so that I can finally wear a pair.

I don't see the point of buying Jordans anymore if over time they just crack on you.

I remember one of my ogs broke apart and I sent a complaint to nike and they just told me to go to a shoe repair place which was no help at all.I think thatnike should have a place where you can send your vintage sneakers to be repaired.I wouldn't mind paying for that as long as my kicks are fixed.Sorry tohear about your problem but I doubt nike will help.

It happens. After a few years the glue just disappears. I live in the Caribbean and after a max. of 5 years I can toss my shoes out.

My 2000 retro V just crumbled in 2004. Came apart while walkin'.

Just wear your kicks. At least get some fun while it last. I don't believe in deadstock. They're not cars. And even those need to be driven once in awhile.

well, if you hung around the forums long enough you would know that 99 retro's are high risks for cracking.

the rubber and foam will petrify if not used semi regularly. it's like it crystalises, and so becomes really brittle.

wear all of your shoes.

dude...i feel you. i had bought myself some worn '99 white cement jordan 4s from japan for xmas. i was excited to get them cuz they're my grails. iwore them once to the mall for literally about 30 min and the entire right shoe cracked on me and the rubber heel was dragging. i had to buy some cracked outcheap running shoes from the nike outlet just to wear the rest of the time at the mall. but in the end, i ended up returning the nike shoes to the outletslmaoo and i'm trying to find some shoe to sole swap with them!

pics are coming up soon.

The point is..... We all here work hard so we can buy our Jordan shoes. Nike
takes our hard earned $150 and gives us a garbage product.

This happened to my 5s.
