Another One? Again? Cant Even Keep Up With The Tally..

(CNN)Cincinnati police are investigating the fatal shooting of an apparently unarmed black man by a University of Cincinnati police officer  after a confrontation during a traffic stop Sunday.

The dead man, who was shot in the head, was Samuel Dubose, a 43-year-old father of 13 children, according toCNN affiliate WKRC-TV. A CNN records search showed that Dubose had more than 60 arrests.

Authorities identified the officer as Ray Tensing, who has five years' experience in law enforcement and who has worked for the University of Cincinnati Police Department for more than a year. He is white.

Samuel dubose was killed after being initially stopped for driving without a front license plate.

According to Cincinnati police, which is handling the investigation, Tensing saw Dubose driving without a front license plate around 6:30 Sunday evening and tried to pull him over. Police said Dubose continued for about a mile before stopping the car.

Tensing asked several times to see Dubose's driver's license, Cincinnati police said. Instead, police said, Dubose handed the officer a bottle of alcohol.
According to police, Tensing asked Dubose to step out of the car, at which point a struggle ensued.

"There was a struggle at the door with Mr. Dubose in the vehicle and the officer outside the vehicle, and the vehicle sped away," Cincinnati police Lt. Col. James Whalen told reporters.

Police said Dubose then stuck his key back in the ignition and sped away as Tensing fired a single shot, hitting the driver in the head.

Tensing fell to the ground as he fired the shot, bruising his legs and tearing his uniform, Cincinnati police said.

It appeared that Dubose did not have a weapon, according to police.

Dubose's mother, Audrey, said her son was "full of love," CNN affiliate WLWT-TV reported.

"Know that my son was not a violent person," she said. "My son ... he got stopped a lot but he never tried to fight."

Dubose's son, Samuel, told WKRC, "He was coming home that night and we had a projector so we were going to watch a movie on it but we didn't get to do that ... because he died."

The officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay. He has not yet been interviewed, nor have two other officers who arrived on the scene, as they are allowed 24 to 48 hours to work with their attorneys first.

Tensing was wearing a body camera, police said. They also said they have received surveillance video from nearby buildings but have yet to view it. No dashboard camera video is available, police said.

Jason Goodrich, public safety director and police chief at the University of Cincinnati, said a mutual aid agreement allows university officers to function as officers outside campus grounds.

Over the past 20 years, Dubose has been charged more than 75 times in Hamilton County. Most of the charges were indeed non-violent: driving without a license, joyriding, having windows tinted too dark, misdemeanor drug possession. An assault charge in 2013 was dismissed. He’s faced eviction seven times, and he had his license suspended indefinitely in January by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Being from Cincinnati, A black man will get pulled over atleast 3-5x a year for the pettiest **** ever!

With that said, this is like the 3rd officer involved killing in the last 2 months, following the killing of a Cincinnati officer.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet though.

Ehh, gotta see the whole story first. These reports are always all over the place. Need witness, vid, ect...

People did question the use of the gun and they said that in that area they stopped using tasers as one person died from one and sued the PD. So instead of turning down the voltage, they go back to lethal force.. i mean he aimed for the head.. no body no legs..

lol more than 60 arrests

He deserved it then. 13 kids? What a scumbag lowlife.

Not to mention the fact that he would still be alive if he had not broke the law.

R.I.P.

:smh:

May he find peace that he probably had a difficult time finding here on Earth :smh: :frown:

From what I read, part of the agreement from the taser fatality was that they couldn't use tasers anymore.

If you're sitting in a car, isn't the head basically the only thing you can hit?

Dude probably shouldn't have drove away.

I imagine a lot of those were times when he mouthed off to a cop too much and ended up with an arrest. Not knowing how to talk to cops will get you in tons of trouble.

I've been pulled over with messed up Ls and still walked away free

Around here, they give no warnings, judges can bypass recitable tickets and have you arrested on a missed court date for a speeding ticket.
