Basement in new house. Got the TV mounted and have stuff on an old table temporarily while I look for new table.

Need table to cover the electrical outlet but not be too close to TV. So height needs to be between 20-27 inches. Options 1, 3, 4 sit below the electrical outlet. Option 2 would hide electrical outlet. Other considerations, I want to hide the wires and plan to put a sound bar (Sony 3.1 Ch Hi-Res) on the table.

Got it narrowed to these 4 tables. What you guys think?

Also open to suggestions for the table.

Congratulations on the new house!

I’d like to help with picking a media stand but it’s hard not knowing what else is in the space. What style is the space currently?

To me #2 is much more mid-century modern than the others.

You should also consider width. The last one looks nice but it may not be wide enough for your setup.

I like #3 but the color wood at the base may not work well with your floor color. Also, I prefer backing for my shelves. Seeing through to the wall bugs me.

I’m in the market for a new media stand too actually. Where are you looking? These are all good looking.

I like 1 or 4

Is #4 counter top concreate or marble like?
If it is definitely 4. Ive never seen a tv counter madr out of that. Its usually wood or glass. Very interesting.

Any recommendations for a nice shoe rack or cubbie? I’m looking for something in an espresso color to match my other decor.

I think you should get a big dark media cabinet the hides everything for maximum tv viewing pleasure

Starting fresh. Just moved in this past weekend. My couch and chair won’t be here for another month. :frown:

Need to grab some new wall art, lights, and some other ish to tie it all together. Def need some plants around the crib too.

Thinking about removing the mirror from the dresser and adding a tall mirror somewhere else inside the crib.

Congrats on the pad. You can do so much with that place it’s almost like a clean canvas.
Keep the thread updated man

Married guy but I am curious what bachelors are filling their apartments with outside of the regular models and working women.

Your bed sheets look kinda ugly. Womens not trying to spread eagle on some grandma blankets.

My spot would almost be complete with a modern 6 drawer dresser, local art (incoming), and a curtain for my “closet” - just need to measure it out this weekend.

But I’m still waiting on this purple mattress to be delivered..:smh:

Just asking because finding time to Set up a appointment to look at places is so difficult , but have driven to places and looked around the area and the buildings to get a feel of the environment though
Why not just street view on Google Maps to get a feel for the area?

Man reading through this thread and seeing the pics, almost brings a tear to the eye. Remembering the days when I had a bachelor pad, keep up the great work guys.

My favorite was a 2 bedroom with a loft, I just knew I was Eddie Murphy in Boomerang in that place.

what smart home systems are you guys using? i have sonos for audio throughout and nest for security/thermostat. is google home or alexa a better choice to integrate everything?

Interesting I remember looking at the Sonos maybe a year and a half ago but didn't pull the trigger. I am doing the prelim stages for a smart home, we are listing the house this year but I want to be ready for the new house. Any drawbacks on the Nest, we still have the thermostat the house came with.

Are you going to change the bulbs in the lights so they are also controlled by Alexa or Google Home?

I'm all in on Sonos myself, and I love it. I'm still in the rental stages of life, currently moved back home to try to save up some money and plan my next move, but Sonos allows you to take all your components with you and not worry about drilling in any walls or having any equipment installed, just fire up and on the wifi we go.

It's also cool having the playbar on the tv, I can group all of my speakers throughout an apartment or house to the TV so if there's a big game going on or something if you step away to the bathroom you'll still have the TV feed in the bathroom or the kitchen, wherever you may be. Expensive though for sure...
