Can I live a decent life in SF...

On a police officer's salary? I've been thinking about applying;although, I know it's expensive as hell to live in SF. I was just wondering.

you can always work in SF and live somewhere else thats way cheaper.

My dad made the commute from Fairfield to SF everyday for like 25 years.

Thanks for all your replies. It was between Chicago or SF. SFPD is testing on 2/18/09, I'll make the trip then.

yea im pretty sure SFPD is one of the best paying departments in the nation...%#$!+ all over OPD and NYPD
