EWD's Tech Start-Up Company Vol...Iono

OG has real and true talent, not sure what his plans are or what he's doing now, but it'd be a crime for him to not monetize those abilities in some manner.

Those of you who have met me in person or at least have had an IM convo with me know the deal. I'm a supportive type dude that encourages peeps to go for their dreams, because that attitude has done so much for me in my life.

I've helped out a few NTers in various ways and will continue to do so. As a matter of fact the intent of this thread was morento share a little about my process to start a business so that maybe I could inspire one of y'all to take the leap. Win or lose you are already successful by attempting a biz, because it shows you aren't so afraid and risk averse. You learn so much about yourself when starting a venture. It's truly an amazing experience, even before earning your 1st dollar.

Never divulge too much of your business idea especially in an open setting like this. Why have someone benefit instantly from all the hard work and information gathering you did. You wouldnt just give away capital, so why would you give away intellectual capital? You can still be an inspiration without giving up your practices.

So what's the angle exactly EWD? Petro & Gas industry? farming?

I would think anyone paying $$ for drone video, could simply buy one themselves, and a matching Durango too.

It being a Durango is irrelevant, could have been a Pathfinder, a Murano, a Highlander. A vehicle that had cargo room for my equipment was all that mattered to be honest. The picture is part of my branding. It's consistent with my logo my information, and even the colors were well thought out. I went with a white vehicle because that's the most common color for vehicles of utility. Trucks are welcomed more for my target clientele.

The answer to your question is the reason why I'll neither confirm nor deny or answer any specific questions. I'm simply not giving away my competitive advantage. The specifics of what I do with my UAV is what VCs will fund. That's why my company was built from day one to be scaleable.

Dudes in here are letting the superior .gif/video roasting skills of OGLobo make them think they can get in on it.

By the way a roast is an honor. I know you hypersensitive dudes these days would beg to differ, but it's an honor and quite funny. They are supposed to be heavy handed, that's where the humor comes from. Learn the history of the roast.

Fact is I'm a huge draw here on NT, and I know it. OGs reps went up drastically because of EWD. Funny thing is as far as NT goes y'all think it's destroying me, when in all reality it's giving me NT life. The word infamy would be nothing without the root word famous.

Yet I finished undergrad with a 3.9 GPA, and rocking a 3.5 in Grad School in the Top 2 Petro Geo program in the nation.

Please respond, wait no need to.

it's kind of hard to believe what you say after all that purple heart, princess yambs, hooping in prison after 2 days, and saying that table is a landing pad

edit:
and it's kind of hard for me to believe that you are a geo major when you are venturing into drone business. i assume you're still in texas, why on earth would you go into drone business ? im a geo major and i know how much black shale there is in the gulf. you could easily just live off working for a petro company for the rest of your life if you dedicated yourself for 10 years

I mean the imagery in the OP post was kinda ridiculous , and the withholding of the business plan adds to the joke

But this thread should really just be about some friendly roasting. And marveling at Lobo and OG's PS skills

Everyone should sincerely be hoping for EWD to flourish. We talk at length about how young brothers should be starting businesses, so we can't **** on dude for having the courage to do just that

Get dat drone paper pleighboi :smokin

Wait using a table as an elevated surface in order to prevent from debris from fouling the internals of the UAV is an issue?

If you are a geologist, excuse me if you are an intelligent geologist then you'd know that the price of a barrel of oil is around $42 which is almost $60 down from what it was a year ago this time when it was hovering around $100 per barrel. You'd know that even some of the majors like Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and Shell (layed off 6500 people), have layed people off due to the downturn in the industry. You'd also know that under $60 per barrel makes unconventional hydrocarbon extraction (in this case the hydraulic fracturing of shale) a lot less profitable. The oil industry is going through a downturn due to Saudi Arabia continuing to flood the market with oil creating more supply than demand, and in a commodity driven market like oil that means the prices go down considerably. A great thing for consumers, not so good for the industry. Anyway I would do both simultaneously anyway even if the industry was still poppin. Is there a law against getting more money?

But see this is the type of stuff I know going to one of the top ranked Petro Geo programs in the Nation as well as working an internship this summer for one of the supermajor oil companies. Wonder what your credentials are Mr. Geo.

Somebody escort this fool out the room

Just read the entire thread from first page....that Oral History video may be the single greatest piece of Internet comedy I've ever experienced. I've been on NT for a minute & when I say "lol" it usually means I chuckled internally if that...or I can see the humor in the joke. But I legit burst into laughter at that video to the point where I had to step outside the workplace. The work in this thread rivals that of the Boozer thread...if it's not better. OG & lobo, y'all have the science of Internet comedy mastered, and I'm sure y'all's work is the funniest I've seen on NT in all my years.

oil is cheap right now because the arabs want it cheap right now. so that our fracking plants go bankrupt, and then the arabs can buy them all, and jack all the prices sky high

^^^^You can even go to a junior college without having a high school diploma or a GED but you will have to take an exam to see where you are placed. Once you get your undergrad done, you can transfer to a state or a UC. At this point in life, no job is checking for your high school credentials.

funny how all you addressed was the landing pad and not the purple heart or prison stay or princess yambs but either way.

you don't need be a geologist to know that, you can easily read the wall street journal and know that. and in actuality the oil business is not hurting they are still recording record profits. oil prices vary from state to state, that doesn't may they are hurting in the pockets. it's expensive to drill but the reward far outweighs the risk in coming up empty. i understand drilling permits aren't cheap but that's why companies hire the best geologists. if you got laid off you were perhaps not the best in the field.

i'm actually an undergrad who is still in the middle stages. could not apply for an internship this summer because of my other job. the field of geology is so vast that if you feel the only to be made is petro then i don't know what to say.

I have to say though, good luck with procuring that sub contract already. Maybe then you could divulge a little more into exactly what you are planning to do.
