Houston Rockets 2017 Preseason Thread - Spurs MyPlayers Take Over

Anderson is worth the money he got, just needs to stay healthy.  If anything, just make him a reserve.

The Houston Rockets have signed Cameron Oliver to a two-year contract. Likely partially guaranteed camp deal with potential for more.

We byke, will update later on. Portland trying to sneak Melo for themselves is the reason the trade is held up. Will more than likely have to be a different 3rd team

Starting to think Portland wasn't the 3rd team in the original Melo trade.

It's makes zero since for them to change their stance 2 days later and ask for Melo knowing he has a NTC.

Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander is putting the team up for sale, team president Tad Brown announced on Monday in a news conference. Brown cited Alexander's age, commitments to his family and philanthropic interests as the motivating factors for Alexander to put the team on the market.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the decision to put the Rockets up for sale not only shocked the NBA -- but also those within the Rockets organization.

Leslie Alexander's decision to sell the Houston Rockets didn't only surprise the rest of the NBA, it surprised those within the franchise.

"It's been my great joy and honor to own the Houston Rockets for the past 24 years," Alexander said in a prepared statement. "I've had the incredible opportunity to witness true greatness through the players and coaches who have won championships for the city, been named to All-Star and All-NBA teams, enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame, and done so much for our franchise and our fans. And the Houston community has been home to me; I will continue to support the charities I have made commitments to throughout the years. I'll always have a special place in my heart for the fans, partners, city officials and employees who care so deeply for this team. I've made this decision after much deliberation with my family and friends, and do so knowing the franchise is in great shape with the players, coaches and management team in place. CEO Tad Brown will oversee the sales process with the league office, supported by my management team."

Houston recently traded for Chris Paul and gave superstar James Harden a record $228 million extension that will keep him in town until the 2022-23 season. Additionally, the franchise had been in talks to trade for Carmelo Anthony up until earlier this week when talks stalled.

Billionaire restaurateur Tilman Fertitta, owner of Landry's Inc., one of the nation's biggest restaurant corporations, says he's interested in buying the Houston Rockets.

"I've always had an interest in the Rockets," Fertitta told KRIV-TV in Houston. "It's one of Houston's four major teams. It would be exciting. This is my home. I've looked at other teams, but it's hard to be involved with another team when Houston is your home."

He told KTRK-TV in Houston that he would consider purchasing the team by himself if the numbers were right. "If it's an unreasonable number, I'll pull a group together, and if it's a crazy number, I won't participate, " he said.

Fertitta also said he'd keep the Rockets in Houston.

An original investor in the Houston Texans, Fertitta offered $81 million to buy the Rockets in 1993, but the team was sold to current owner Leslie Alexander for $85 million.

In February, Forbes valued the team at an estimated $1.65 billion.

It was announced Monday that the Rockets are for sale.

Tillman's Houston-based company owns and operates more than 500 locations that includes restaurants, entertainment entities, and gaming and hospitality facilities, including the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casinos, Morton's The Steakhouse, The Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks.

Are those real unis?

As far as the Rockets sale, I don't expect it to go any much over 4 billion.

That cut makes a drastic difference. The jerseys are still plain, but still way better than before. Starting from 2012 when they were supposed to change it, it's they would cut half a millimeter from the shoulders every year.
