How is gyro pronounced?

I pronounce it like a NYer like Kramer does on Seinfeld.

Over here on the West coast they pronounce it euro.

I still pronounce it the NY way eem though they try and correct err time.
 
I never order gyros because I'm never sure how to pronounce it. I always hear different ways

always thought it was "guy row" then i heard it pronounced "euro". i have no idea :smh:

I saw a cooking show about them and the guy said it's pronounced gee (like if you're going to say geek) and row. He owns a restaurant and says he makes fun of people who pronounce it wrong in his shop.
 
Well i have studied greek culinary arts in the finest academic settings and it is pronounced hay ro.

In Downtown Detroit we have greektown and each restaurant says it differently it might be a regional thing. Some pronounce it as year-o some as guy-ro but I don't know for sure it's all Greek to me :tongue: Just order one and a saginaki and you are :smokin
