And if you haven't signed my petition and supported my Brother's Facebook page....don't bother sending me your resume.

Not trying to be an *******, it just gets tiresome doing much for others and folks refusing to take 5 minutes to reciprocate the effort.

Just a quick question,

With a computer science degree just what exactly would I be looking at? In terms of like salary, job placement, department, etc.

Still in undergraduate, just doing some soul searching. Don't want to graduate and just end up taking a position at McD's.

Trust and believe with a degree in CS you will not be working at McDonalds or McDowells....unless it is by choice or an I AM LEGEND event takes place and destroys our Government and Private Industry.

Depending on your focus IT/IS/IA or you are more into the Programming/Developing route....the jobs are infinite and limitless in the DMV area.

I discussed this earlier in the thread here about my old lady and being 4 years out of graduating with a Bachelors of Professional Studies in Computer Science/Information Systems. She is a GS-12 making 85K a year (should be a GS-13 supervisor role, but she has let her coworkers shake her confidence in passing the CISSP Certification).

Guys, I have seen all the emails and PMS. I am trying to get back to each and every one of you in a timely manner.

I am in the process of moving/switching jobs/working still/packing/doing the petition for my late Brother and all that goes with that.....on top of my everyday routine and Coaching Baseball.

I'm taking of Monday from work and I hope to target that day to catch up.

I haven't forgotten and will try my best.

Feel free to find me on LinkedIn or hit me on Gmail.

Good looks! Fear Not, I have not forgotten folks but things are super busy at work, personal life, moving, new job, personal business ventures, etc.

I WILL get to every message, but there were a lot and I lost track of some with the flooding of PMS/EMAILS/ETC.

I will catch up soon. (NBA Playoffs didn't help.....my Basketball season is almost done, and my baseball team that I coach has 3 weeks left).

If you want a faster response please lend a hand to my venture for my late Brother!

Thanks

Was your position affected by the furlough?

Not mine no or my new one.

FEMA IMAT is not regulated by the Sequester.

My current position isn't either, but as a Program Manager I have to inform my Subs/Employees about this:

"Hello ******,

Request your review of the proposed bilateral mod language for the upcoming sequester. I am looking for a 20% price reduction during the
11 week timeframe, which equates to approximately -15% for July, -20% for Aug, and -15% for Sept.

Please let me know if your team will concur with the modification language and if we can settle on a revised Section B/Pricing. I estimate the overall price reduction would equate to approximately $***,****.**

We are working it out, but it's only 11 days. I wish I got furloughed or had some free days off this Summer.....No doubt.

Good looks! I appreciate the help my man. Trying to pay it forward and always give back to NT despite a lot of the negativity and cynical view points on here....some folks do try to help.

^^^^u will be repped when ever I see ur sn by me for the rest of my time on NT

No worries man, just pay it forward and I will try to gauge what you are trying to do or where you are trying to go with things. I don't give people jobs though, I try to help the best I can and I can only help someone who wants to help themselves. I try to lend a hand and give an opportunity.

I'm definitely interested OP. Anything solid in the DC area or NC, hell, even FL

DC. MD. VA....thats the MECCA of Federal/DOD jobs. NC....not so much.....FL....not so much. FL has a decent Naval Presence. Jacksonville, NAVSEA, etc. I'll keep a look out though.

anything in GA ??

I'll keep a look out...I know we were going after work down in GA. Savannah area I think. Statesboro too possibly.

Great thread, thanks for offering your help!

I've been applying to Federal positions since late 2011 and have had very little luck (USAjobs is a joke). I am particularly interested in moving to the DC/northern VA region and landing a Federal position. I have a master's degree and experience with databases, research, analysis, writing, etc. I also have foreign languages if you think that would help.

I've tried to do everything I can to tweak my resume to include keywords and such, but it appears that unless you're a veteran or know someone you won't even be considered. I'd appreciate any help/advice!

Now that you're in L.A., can you get your boy in. I apply and never get picked
