I see housing up there being cheap and heard crime being high. Is it really that bad?

Atlantic City? The two worst cities I've been in have both been in Jersey, Newark and Atlantic City.
Yeah I been around there elsewhere.Forgot about Gary, Indiana.
Atlantic City?
You need to travel more in the country.
Atlantic City is horrible, aside from that one 1 mile block radius with all the tourist attractions have you ever been out in the actual city? :x
My brother and I decided to be heroes and go out to a strip club in the city I've never clutched my purse so hard in my life.
What?! I'm not trying to see bad cities, I'm good on that. You can see them for me and tell me how you like themForgot about Gary, Indiana.

Saint Louis? The worst city in the country, bar none, is East St. Louis. It's in a category by itself.
The next tier of worst cities include Camden, Gary, and Detroit.
St. Louis, Newark, and Baltimore probably represent the next tier.
This is based on both personal experiences in all these cities as well as actual research on urban marginality and violence, which is part of what I do.
Seeing the best and worst of America is a unique experience.Forgot about Gary, Indiana.

I'm not gonna sit here and say it's goat but it's not the worst
I don't think thats accurate.. I've read there were like like 190 murders in st louis. There were close to 500 in chicago.. not sure about the other cities tho. Still a bloody year regardlessSt. Louis was the nation's murder capital last year for cities with populations above like 200,000. Higher than Detroit, Baltimore, Newark, etc. More than twice as high as Chicago.Saint Louis? The worst city in the country, bar none, is East St. Louis. It's in a category by itself.

I'm talking about murder rate. How many murders per 100,000 residents. That's really the only accurate way to compare levels of violence across cities and across time.
Looking at sheer numbers makes Chicago look terrible but it's really not compared to lots of U.S. cities.
