I understand it happens but I don't see whats in it for the small store.

They can sell the shoes at full price and still sell out. Why give a discount?

If the purchaser is adding on extra cash over retail, then that cuts into their profit by a good percentage.

These days if a shoe is already 190 and the quantities aren't limited, your going to max at like 230 and then you pay for your paypal fee and shipping and you've barely made 40 dollars. Add in the fact that everybody is selling the same shoe(sometimes dudes sell before they even got the shoe), your probably gonna lose. Nike did well hurting the resell market.



Oh and add to the fact theres like 3 pairs dropping each week.

Yeah, I try to resell for that extra pocket change since I'm in college and only get paid minimum wage. Try to flip my checks when I can. It's definitely not easy though considering all the aforementioned variables that have to be factored in. Except for gas money and shipping. I don't have to drive anywhere and my buyer pays shipping typically.

I think if you want to do it to make extra cash its better to just go all out for online sites. If you can get 10+ pairs shipped to you and then you can just drop it off at a local consignment shop to cash out quick. Your amount of time/effort/gas is minimal. The profit isn't market rate but you make up for it in less time invested.

I actually don't drive but I lived on campus and we had a USPS hub that was like 3:30 minutes away from me walking distance.

Curious though, what do you mean by "drop it off" at the consignment stores?

Damn, I was looking for investment tips about 2-3 years ago lol. I know there's a million ways to get paid, I'm just tryna get a feel of what's for me while I'm still young lol.
