Looks like Philly got a face to face meeting with Simmons. I don't think Lakers had one or have any plans yet. Unless you consider D.Lo our rep

@gonzoCSN League sources confirm ESPN report: Sixers brass had dinner with Ben Simmons & his agent in Cleveland last night. Told it went well
Must've had the meeting before the Cavs-Warriors game.

Was looking for the timeline of Julius coming back from injury in 2014-2015. Look like light weight stuff in April. 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 late April / Early May. 5-on-5 stuff a couple of weeks before Summer League. And even then was protected in Summer League. So while he had plenty of time, and got in shape by losing fat from October 2014 to October 2015, he may have not been as well-conditioned, as he could have been, had he been able to go full bore in April as opposed to June.

It's on him to get himself conditioned at this point though. He knows what to expect, and what he needs to do now. It's not about just getting skinnier. That may help, but doesn't solve all the problems.

But that's irrelevant, to the gem I found looking for the Randle injury timetable.

From Woj on 6/24/15

Kings vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac has pursued a possible deal that would include a bevvy of assets, including the Lakers' No. 2 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, rookies Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson and other draft assets, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Sacramento also would want to unload the remainder of forward Carl Landry's two years, $13.5 million contract, league sources said.

So we would have had to trade # 2 (Russell), Randle & Clarkson just for Cousins... And with Cousins, we'd then have all our chips on the table, and have a mediocre Off-season spending money as opposed to doing a holding pattern.. Probably finish with 25-26 wins, lose the pick this year.

So essentially had we traded for Boogie... The deal would have been Russell, Ingram, Randle & Clarkson

Embarassing.
But totally fixable. He's young and obviously going into his real 2nd year.

Just Hope he's working on that conditioning because I'm sure Luke gon have the boys running even more with the new system.

No room for that Kevin Love type liability on the floor

Hope he cares enough to put in the type of work Clarkson is

Cap isn't projected to be $92mil anymore, It is projected at $94mil now.

With Swaggy we have $60.792mil (11 players) in cap. If we release Swaggy (PLEASE DEER GOD) we have $64mil (10 players) in cap space.

Max salary levels are about $22mil / $26.5mil / $30.2mil

So for example.. DeRozan, Whiteside, Clarkson at $10 mil, would leave about $8mil in cap space that probably goes unspent or a 1 year rental.

Russell / Clarkson / DeRozan / Randle / Whiteside
Huertas / Lou Will / Ingram / Nance Jr. / Black
Brown / #32 Pick

Then if you assume cap jumps $15mil to $109mil which was what was projected, and factor in raises, etc. We will have $20.2mil in cap space with Russell, Clarkson, DeRozan, Randle, Whiteside, Lou Williams, Ingram, Nance Jr., #32 Pick, Anthony Brown.

If you unload Lou Will for future picks, you then are at $27.2mil. $26.2 mil when you add roster space holds/ Max for 10+ years would be around $33mil.

IF we get lucky, and Clarkson gets a max deal somewhere else and we match, we could get DeRozan, Whiteside, re-sign Clarkson & still have max cap space for top tier in 2017

Vlade ain't fooling a damn person. That conversation happened in his dreams.

I actually think that video highlights Randle's potential more than anything else. Despite some truly egregious moments on both ends of the floor, they don't seem to be completely due to a lack of effort.

The best facet of his game is rebounding, which is an effort stat despite some grabs being Love-esque. The comp to Love ends with his willingness to sprint the floor and bullying in the paint throughout the game.

I suspect we will see Randle in much better shape coming into this season, and a better understanding of body control and when to use his burst will help too. If he can play 35 minutes of high-level basketball, we will see him set some monster screens and tire out opposing point guards giving Russell and wing players a more effective first step. That will be huge in Luke's system.
