I still say Star Wars over Lord of the Rings.

LOTR did a good job with the literary archetypes etc and the universe it created was just as extensive (although not as interesting) as SW. The movies wereepic in size and were visually very well done but they dragged and were very long.

Also I had no idea that John Rhys-Davies, who plays Gimli (the dwarf), also played Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade and was also in TheLiving Daylights (Bond film).

Star Wars...

LOTR didn't have as much of an impact as Star Wars..and by the way it's kind of weird to compare them because I don't think they're thatsimilar.

Anywho, Star Wars>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>LOTR

yeah its true...but the real question would be to start ranking trilogies

Star Wars
LOTR
Indiana Jones
Die Hard
Shrek
Pirates
Spiderman
Back to the Future
Mission Impossible
Jurassic Park
Rush Hour
Godfather
etc

divided by genre or not...even though most of those aren't trilogies anymore.
