I used to love riding the bus as a little kid.

Speaking of light Rail:
From the 1st day of the Blue Line. Goes from Downtown LA to Long Beach.
This is in Downtown LB...it cracks down there. The beach, women, bars....
This is the green line...runs exclusively along the I-105 freeway....scared as hell when I first got on
The red line....1st subway line in LA. Pretty quick ride from Downtown LA to Universal Studios....
Gold Line...newest full running Light Rail line (will be #2 With the expo line opening in November). Downtown to Pasadena.

The GOP hates public transportation as new Florida Gov. Rick Scott did the same thing here.

Yep. Here in Cincy we had the streetcar almost in and then dummy shelved that idea. We have a casino being built. That street car plus the rail system would have been monumental for us and the rest of Ohio. i grew up takin the 1 train in ny, still do regularly when im in the city since the spot i stay at in ny is right by the 231st station

I'm not sure if we're getting these. I hope not since they don't have a back door. But that makes them ideal for express routes seeing as you pay your fare when you get off.

Honestly we need more Articulated buses asap. They're a fair amount of routes who could use them since ridership gets extreme sometimes. One thing I don't dig about Metro is whoever is in charge of bus times. In my area, I have the option of catching about 10 buses to get downtown. Some of those come too close to each other so if you miss one, you miss the others as well in some cases.
Anybody got rude bus drivers in their area. I know the occasional stiff but I swear half of Tanks staff is rude as hell. You speak and they got the pitbull face on. Not to use the race card but most if not all of the rude drivers are white.

Been having nostalgia so I'll post some pics from LA area transit back in the day:
Santa Monica was the only operator in Cali to operate these things from canada. Rode one once....great bus.
If you seen the movie speed, these will look familiar. Never rode one..but the last one ever built was operated by Santa Monica...Still preserved.
Favorite paint scheme: The tri-stripe.
Crosstown Route from Fox Hills Mall to Westside Pavillion
Last bus with the Tri-Stripe. Actually retired with the paint.
A good number of our RTSs were powered by methanol. That $^$& didn't last at all and were repowered with the infamous 6V92TA engine (The engine that RKO2004 posted)
Speaking of which, RKO these where the Gilligs I was talking about....straight savage.
These are the future of LACMTA. over 550 45 foot buses to replace most of the high floor models, extra extra quiet. the 2004 models are beasts though.
