If you follow his life through his various documentaries books and such (not including his cinema) there are people that knew him who say to have witnessed these street fights with their own eyes and they're discussing it on camera. Because of his smaller stature and big reputation as a fighter he had goons challenging him left and right. Twice his weight in a lot of instances. Haters and doubters refused to believe this lil Chinese man was THAT dude so he's had to let a few ppl know he was that dude. There was even a rumor that his death was due to internal injuries sustained street fighting. Even tho most go with the pain meds causing his brain to swell.

People who have never trained or fought will never realize that the dynamics between fighting for points, inside of an enclosed ring, with big gloves covering your hands is totally different than free form, no-holds barred street fighting.
