Failing in general or failing in school, how do you handle it?

So I'm going to fail a class. It's extremely discouraging and there's not much I can do about it.
Whether I pass the final or not, I CAN'T pass. I'll be talking to the teacher again, but there isn't much hope.

How many of you guys can relate?

But really, it's a terrible feeling. Sulking in my failure won't help either...Maybe he'll be nice and pass me with a D if I ace the final.

Care to elaborate? Failing isn't rare. I work 32-40 hours a week (but that's no excuse)...It's tough though.

I'm in college btw.

LOL @ the warriors joke damn...

Learn from it and move on. All you can do.

Think of it this way, if you knew you were going to fail, you wouldn't of even done it...

And everyday you hold yourself back, you move backwards. To resist failure, is to stay in the same place forever.

I'm sure you know why you failed.

Just make sure you avoid making the same mistakes the second time around.

I've been there. %##* sucks.

Ace it. Show the professor that you have a handle over the class material, and tell him that you should have respected the work that he assigned more, and thatyou've learned from your mistake.

If you can't get the professor to pass you after that,

Can't you work out a deal with your professor were if you do great (like 90%) on your final you'll get a c- or something?

Laziness is hard to cure, but to avoid the feeling of discouragement, it'll be worth it.

For those in the same boat as I am, here's a story from the motivational quote thread:
RESPONDING TO ADVERSITY
A daughter complained to her father about her life andhow

things were so hard for her. She did not how she was goingto

make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fightingand

struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new onearose.

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filledthree

pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon thepots

came to a boil. In one he placed carrots, in the secondhe

placed eggs, and the last he placed ground coffee beans. Helet

them sit and boil, without saying a word.

The daughter sucked her teeth and impatiently waited, wondering

what he was doing. In about twenty minutes he and turned offthe

burners. He fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl.He

pulled the eggs out and placed them a bowl. Then he ladledthe

coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her he asked. "Darling, what do yousee?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," shereplied.
He brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She
did and noted that they were soft. He then asked her to takean

egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observedthe

hard-boiled egg.

Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. She smiled asshe

tasted its rich aroma.

She humbly asked. "What does it meanFather?"

He explained that each of them had faced the sameadversity,

boiling water, but each reacted differently.

The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. Butafter

being subjected to the boiling water, it softened andbecame

weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shellhad

protected its liquid interior. But after sitting throughthe

boiling water, its inside became hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique however. After they werein

the boiling water, they had changed thewater.

"Which are you," he asked his daughter. "Whenadversity knocks

on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, ora

coffee bean? "

Thing is, he doesn't even offer extra credit, so it's already tough luck. I've emailed him arranging a meeting after Thanksgivingbreak.

why would you work that many hours if it is affecting your school work?

and you must have known early on you were doing badly in the class either from your midterms, quizzes or other assignments you turned in

so you could of either dropped the class or go to your prof's office hours and get help

I can understand if you bomb the final or something, but to have such a poor grade in the class to not even pass if you ace the finals just shows how much ofan idiot you are
