How big was the pot OP? You guys got that crazy poker going on going in with JT and 55, you guys were mad at eachother? He might have lied to you on purpose if he really does play poker.

yeah, All in pre flop with pocket 5s is not a good look.
What is more astonishing is that he called you, and claims to play poker "all the time"
as many others have said you won.

Another story, just want some of you guys take on this.

Was playing 1-2 NL the other day... so this older guy at the table has been pre-flop raising every other hand... $35, $40, $50... just power betting everyone out the game. So I knew I could take most of his stack if I just caught the right cards at the right time (duh, right?).

Here's what happened.

I get dealt KK. I'm 3 spots behind the old guy. He pre-flop raises to $40. I call. Guy 3 spots behind me calls. Everyone else folds. Flop comes out 9-8-5, all different suits. At this point, I'm thinking the old guy has got Q-Q or J-J. He goes all in like $150. I'm convinced it's the Q-Q, so I call. Then the other guy also calls. Turn is 7. River is a 2. Old guy ends up having the Q-Q like I guessed, but the other guy ended up catching the straight because he had J-10 offsuit, so the 7 sealed the hand for him.

Do you guys think I played the hand correctly? I mean obviously, I lost, but what would you have done. I'm just looking for opinions.

i would of reraised after he went all in to cut out the 3rd guy. why give him a chance for another card if you know you have the winning hand after flop.

stack sizes would help....but as is I would have 3bet the dude who was always raising...

We both started the hand in the $180-$220 range. I had another $200 in my pocket, don't know why it wasn't on the table. Like I said, head wasn't there that day.

Tre,

You play a ton of poker (casino) right? What's your game?

Im no pro but i would of done the same thing but you forgot about they other dude playing and just focused on the old dude cuz you wanted to take him out...you cant blame the other dude cuz he had a solid hand after the flop even though his % of winning was low (correct me if im wrong) and hit his str8 on the turn
