The Panthers could have used Hakeem Nicks. Hakeem Nicks could have used the Panthers. Hakeem Nicks is a Tar Heel.

This pairing made sense before the season, and nothing's changed. They whiffed on that. Nicks is a freaking enigma but it'd be extremely hard for him to still be an enigma considering how much Mike Shula would be forced to spotlight him in this weak *** passing attack confined in a league that revolves around passing.

Too close to home, too many leeches around. Smart move personally by him.

Cam is in the worst situation in the league.

Worst line in the league
Worst WR core in the league
Worst DB core in the league
Missing a all pro de
Terrible OC

And he's coming off off-season ankle surgery and broken ribs.

No win situation, if they don't get him help for next year. He will walk as he should at this point.
When's the last time an all-pro qb went anywhere in free agency willingly?

Has it ever happened?

Yeah, but sometimes he makes some bad plays

Where's the basis for the too many leeches argument if I could ask? That gets thrown around plenty when the idea of somebody returning to their hometown gets brought up, especially if they have a cloudy past. Just want to know to what degree he should be trying to avoid home.

Clearly this offense doesn't need guarantees, it just needs bodies. Hakeem Nicks, somehow, has two seasons over 1,000 yards receiving. You wouldn't take a flier on that with the idea that they'd be using him PLENTY more than Indy is right now when you look at what they throw out on the field right now? Come on.

The Cowboys will either work it out or franchise him so I don't even know why I'm asking, but would the Panthers be a player for Dez Bryant? Newton is clearly just a product of his environment at the current moment and has the arm/legs to work his way into the Top-5 QB in the league category some day. When you suddenly throw him into the mix Cam-Kelvin-Dez changes the Panthers passing game from hideous to one of the best 1-2 punches in the league.

They have to fix that offensive line of course, ideally the first round of next May's draft.
