The originals were popular a few years back. Heard the overall sound-signature is good. But, also heard that the highs are slightly piercing. Maybe they fixed it with this "HR" version. In any case, I would check Head-fi if I were you.

I have the QuietComfort 35's not but I was thinking about upgrading since the battery and cushions are going on them.
