that pay sucks...
I remember I used to be a bus boy and got $7.63/hour + tips. It was only during the weekends and usually 9-11 hours and tips averaged around $60. So.. about $140 @ the end of the day made.

yeah you're getting hosed for that many hours, I know people who get paid under the table but they are at least on an hourly rate,$58 bucks for 12 hours

wow quit now....
i work at a restaurant (i dont even serve, im the "togo/host," person) i made 45 bucks in tips yesterday, i worked like 4 hours...
plus i get paid 8.50.

If you're waiting as a side job, constantly look for better places to work while you build up your waiting resume. I started off in a cheap *#+# restaurant making 20 shift pay plus about 40 in tips to bartending at a busy restaurant making 150-400 a weekend night depending on traffic. Just keep your ears open when someone tries to give you tips on how to hustle that cash and NEVER get caught up in the attitude the career waiters have. They'll be bitter and resentful to a lot of customers and that *#+# will affect your money. At the end of the day you gotta make that cash to get to where you really wanna be so you gotta just brush off all the bad stuff
