It literally comes down to when your role players play well you win, when they don't you lose. When Reddick rivers and Crawford were hot, the Clippers won. When Smith Brewer Jones and Ariza were hot, the rockets won. Save all the other hot takes. Blake, Paul, Harden, Howard all did what they regularly do with minor deviations. When you start getting into "leader should've did this, star player should've did that" yall just sound like you've never played any competitive sport before. Yall spotlight the best player on either team and just start blaming that player thinking you're providing quality insight. Had the rockets lost would've been pages of "d12 isn't serious enough" and "playoff harden". It's like you work off of a script.

Can we give Howard and the rocks some credit? Jesus.
howard should get credit for what exactly? credit for this entire series goes to trevor ariza (mvp this series for rockets) cory brewer, and josh smith. petey pablo gets honorable mention for game 7 hijinks. who wouldve thought I'd ever say those names for a good reason in 2015.

^ All of this. Ariza played the best basketball I've seen out of him in a long time.

Because Dwight is the leader of the team

Because Dwight is the leader of the team. A true leader that do anything for the team to team.

What?

Ubetterthenme is probably the worst poster in S&T if not all of NT.

If a team is able to take the defending champs to the brink and beat them, if a team is able to take a top west team to 3-1 and be up 19 towards the end of the 3rd quarter of the clincher, that team is capable of taking it all.

The Pelicans roster is incomplete.

The Celtics roster is incomplete.

The Jazz, Lakers, and 76ers rosters are incomplete.

Not the Clippers.

That was just a case of a solid roster not getting it done.

Don't take them all the way from contenders to a lottery status just to protect them from the criticism of having a solid roster that failed.

The Rockets or Warriors will not make the Finals. The Cavs or Hawks will not make the Finals.

Whoever doesn't... deserves ALL the criticism for having the potential but not arriving to the Finals.

They ignore this because this fact because if you acknowledge it, you're somehow caping for cp3 or blake, or something. Media sensationalism that's always been there in team sports. Making one or two players the reason why a team won or loss. They win? "He didn't allow his team to win" or "He WILLED THEM TO VICTORY! HE WANTED IT MORE!" They lose "He didn't want it enough" "He Choked"

Basketball is a team sport and when you get contributions from others good things happen. From Ariza, Brewer, Smith, or chalmers and allen in Miami, or fox, horry, etc. in LAL in the early 2000's, they play a huge part in a team's outcome.

Legit criticism and what takes place around here are not the same thing.

Whiteside was and still is a knucklehead. Riles lucked up, Lakers and quite a few other teams passed on him.

Dwight Howard is not a leader by any sense of the word and has never been one, save maybe that NBA Finals trip with the Magic.

All depends on your prospective.

You either believe something within the core is the problem, or the surrounding parts are the problem. If you think the latter is the problem, (I do) then yeah Doc's gm abilities leave a lot to be desired.

So did his coaching in the last two games. And he doesn't seem to very good at calming his players down when things start going badly. Not putting Blake's struggles all on Doc, but I feel like he should have done better job of keeping his focus and confidence up. There's now a pattern of meltdowns with this team. That has to say something about the coaching
