Official 2016 Boxing Thread: 11/5/2016 - Vargas/Pacquiao Top Rank PPV.

Because Brits support British fighters.

Look at Ricky Hatton, he was a megastar over there before he was a blip on the American radar. Even a scrub like Dereck Chisora or David Haye make bank out there because they have big followings.

There's so many quality American fighters that go unnoticed by the American public, only the big name PPV headliners get any noteriety.

Boxing is second to only soccer out there.

Khan is a legend and has been masterful since his 2 round boxing clinic vs. Danny Garcia. I worry about his long term health. He took a brutal beating vs. Chris Algeri, getting staggered bad at least 5 times and may never be the same.

Is the HW rejuvenated and now considered the best Division in Boxing again?

You have the big 3 brits with Joshua, Fury and Haye.  You have Wlad still, Wilder, King Kong, Joseph Parker, Bryant Jennings, Povetkin

great performance by manny pacquiao

especially after coming back from a torn rotator cuff and about a year lay off

shut out tim bradley in 3 fights and surprisingly did better on their last fight

if this is his last fight... it was a great run from one of the most sensational boxers of all time

8 division champ :pimp:

I think Gilberto Ramirez has superstar potential. He will fill the void that Chavez Jr was not able fulfill to some degree.

I didn't see the fight, but saw the highlights and looking at those two knock down by Pac. They looked mad suspect.
The first one looked like Bradley sliped. And the second punch looked weak and that roll was just extra curricular activity by Bradley.
I mean did it look different watching live cuz to me it looked ify...(kanye shrug)am I the only one?

Maybe the highlights you saw weren't good angles of those knock downs. I thought the first one was a slip, but after watching a second angle, a punch did indeed land to initiate that fall. Second one, well I don't know why Bradley did the roll, it didn't seem impactful enough of a punch to do that, but he probably wanted to roll to try to get back up on his feet faster, based off his position at the end of the roll. I don't know. I think Teddy Atlast showed him to be more aggressive, which probably led to those vulnerable knock downs, I prefer Joel Diaz's style of coaching.

People are overlooking the Samoan brute strength and power.

All hail King Khan. Dude has hands of stone and an iron chin. I can see it now. Khan vs Canelo live on ppv. Canelo comes to the ring being escorted by Oscar dressed in drag. Khan comes to the ring escorted by Virgil Hunter. Khan looks more determined than ever and he seems to be adjusting to the catch weight very well. Max Kellerman, Jim Lampley and Jim Ross are commentating the bout. Tony Weeks is the referee in this bout. Round one starts off fast. Canelo lands a left hook flush on Khan's chin. The punch has no effect. Canelo nervously looks at his corner and blasts Khan with a straight right to the jaw. Khan is unfazed. Jim Ross is marking out yelling "MY GOODNESS CANELO JUST HIT KHAN FLUSH ON THE JAW WHAT'S GOING ON". Khan circles towards the ropes and starts shaking them ultimate warrior style. Canelo is clearly fazed. He looks in the crowd to spot Oscar for any kind of sign but Oscar is nowhere to be found. Khan then unleashes a thirty punch combination on Canelo. Jim Lampley is so stunned by this display he says "Hey Canelo, bang, BANG, BANG, BANG, how about another, BANG" Lampley's commentary seems to flow with each shot Khan lands. Khan's incredible display is so impressive that Tony Weeks stops the fight. Down goes Canelo. The crowd is going wild. ALL HAIL KING KHAN THE NEW MIDDLE WEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD.

Diamante :nthat:

:smh: @ Broner
Maybe those 10 days in the clink will help him out. He needs some time to think and reassess his decisions before its too late.

I think Spence is the real deal and will win by KO, but Vegas is disrespecting Algieri. I've seen him anywhere from a +1200 to +1500 underdog. For a guy that's been in there with much tougher competition than Spence, it's tough not to throw a little down on Algieri
